Hi everyone, I have a question about the my number under contacts.

I have a contact for me with all my info including my mobile number but android always shows my number as a contact, so i have synced it with gmail and tried to merge both contacts, my number and my name. but as soon as i sync with gmail i get the phantom number back with no name.

    How do i change this?

It really doesn't bother me but third party apps do not recognize my name as the default contact, just the blank entry that show only my number no name no pic and so on.

    Thanks

    Hi.

I think that's normal. My own details are listed as a contact but it also displays my own number with nothing else at the top of my contacts.

It's not exactly a contact, it's just displays the number of the simcard.

Because it is :p You need to edit the number in another phone then when you put it back in you'll be able to see it.

Possibly cos your number isn't saved on the sim card, have you tried the putting you sim in an old dump phone thing and then using that to edit 'My Number' on there. It then should show up at the top of your contacts list.
