S21/Honda HandsFreeLink issue

I have a Galaxy S21 and I drive a Honda CR-V which uses the HandsFreeLink for bluetooth.
For about the past month, when I start my car and the phone connects to the bluetooth, the phone will attempt to make a call and the audio coming through the car speakers sounds very muted. I have to manually hit a button on the car display to stop the phone from attempting a call.

This had never happened until about a month ago and I've owned the car for 4 years.
This is very frustrating and it's got me stumped.
I'm not sure if it's a problem with the phone or the bluetooth connection, but if anybody has any ideas, I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Hmmm... ...sounds like something got monkeyed up with the bluetooth connection. Have you tried deleting the connection and reestablishing it?

That seems to have fixed it. That was almost too easy. I'll report back if the problem comes back.

Unfortunately it's happening again so I'm back to the drawing board...
