S5 has problems after using rom toolbox

Just recently rooted my S5 and installed Philz Recovery. Made a back up and figured all was good.

I downloaded Rom Toolbox and begun playing around with its features. I changed the font and noticed it's too hard to read so I went to settings and reset my font back to my desired font. Thing is when I load My Internet browser I'm getting half ass font from rom toolbox and I'm missing text and nothing but lines appear when I try to type a search in.

I chose not to back up from the app, as just previously to rooting my phone I made a back up using Philz recovery. Thing is I've already run the restore once ad that didn't solve my problem. So I'm now running it a second time with hopes it will help fix my glitch.

Can anyone offer any help to my problem?

Thank you kindly.

Ps also looking for some help with my Galaxy Core LTE... trying to find a compatible rom like philz recovery for this phone so I can make backups.

Greatly appreciated
Skunk

Here is a screen shot if what my Internet browser looks like. 2nd attempt using Philz recovery didn't change a thing. ..

Thanks for the help.
Have a question for everyone or yourself Bg260. Once I flash these roms what are my options to get my S5 back to stock? Is my restore save from Pholz Recovery all I need? Or is there another option.

You can always use Odin to return to stock. This will not reset the Knox counter though. If you want to give me your full model # (baseband in about phone) I can look up the firmware for you.

This is where your firmware is.

https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900W8/

Is your bootloader unlocked or safestrapped?

Thanks for the link to that site. I'm assuming I'd use the Telus version as that is what my Sim card is for....?

I'm assuming your last question is aimed at the bootloader being locked to a certain provider? Such as telus or another provider?

Currently I'm unsure but the person o bought this phone from more than likely didnt get it on a plan so im assuming its unlocked.....what is the best way to find this out?

As far as the firmware, that is dependent on the baseband. For a more definitive answer download this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo

Scroll to the firmware page.

Here is everything you ever wanted to know about bootloaders....and then some:

In order to have Philz recovery installed, the primary bootloader has to either be unlocked or safestrapped (circumvent). What tutorial did you follow to install it?

For some reason that app won't load on my S5... ive tried multiple times Downloading and reinstalling it and it just freezes after clicling the app...... It says its compatible with all my devices and works on my Galaxy Core Lte.. but the S5 she freezes up.
i downlaoded another phone info app and says my boot loader is
G900W8VLS1DPF3 . on that page i tracked down the Bootloader and my model number and it still has the same firmwear listed for all major providers. so im assuming its would be a telus phone as thats whats my sim card is from.

I'll go over those links this evening once the kids are in bed, and do some leaning about bootloaders. i do have a lot to learn as id eventually like to play around with my phone and start flashing some custom roms. I greatly apprecate all the help and advice you have offered myself.

well the process i used to root my phone is........ i started out with Kingo Root... but since re-rooted it once i installed Odin on my computer.

i then flashed my phone with CF-Auto Root which re-rooted it then installed Philz Recovery using Odin. and made a backup. havent flashed anything else on this phone after the problems running Rom Toolbox.

I have found a list of custom roms on this site.... have already downloaded them. they are at the bottom of the list under the SM-G900W8.... would i be safe to try flashing some of these roms on my phone? provided i followed the writeups provided my the makers....
G900W8
Omega ROM
AllianceROM
XtreStoLite
Masik Lollipop
Project Infinity
Shohat ROM

As long as you understand the concepts of Bootloaders.
The website you linked mentions the S5 as being 1 device. That is not correct. Carrier branding greatly effects the ROM. If you were to flash a ROM from a different variant, simple things like telephone and Internet connection could be lost. That said, as long as you have a competent functioning Nandroid backup and custom recovery, it shouldn't be to much of a pain, just don't try to upgrade. I would suggest you thoroughly investigate and do much reading before attempting.
