  1. Probably none. The chip uses way too much power even at 45nm to be used in a phone. Its designed for mini tablets that run Android which are coming out next year not phones. The author of that article is not educated in technology or electrical engineering.

I realize you probably can't say who you work for, but maybe what kind of company? I mean, you keep saying it "is coming in January". Would just like to know what your connection is that you're privi to this info.

No, no. He doesn't have an actual picture of the it'll be called. He's purposely showing you a picture of the Touch HD (that runs WinMo) as a near identical look at what the phone will look like. Again, that's NOT an actual picture of the phone. RELAX.

I had the omnia, and lets just say that it was like carrying a odd-shaped paper weight around. Glad to hear that isn't it.

Good afternoon all. First post, but I love this site.
I'm currently on the fence between the droid, passion, n1, etc.. I would LOVE it if this passion looks like this and is coming to verizon. However, please re-read what newsradio stated is that he is NOT sure which network is getting this phone. So it may be verizon, or it may not be.

Thanks for all the info, everyone here. Here is to hoping this does come to verizon.

I also have a 4+ year old flip phone but I'm def gonna wait it out for what I hope is the Bravo that looks like the thing called the Bravo in the leaked HTC brochures. The thing in the HTC brochures looks very similar to the N1 and since they are very similar hardware wise I am still expecting the Bravo to look like that over the Touch HD.

I have read so many rumors about this phone and I have been thinking back to which ones were true for further guidance on what and when we Verizon folk are going to get it. I do remember the first time I saw the January 5th release date for T-mobile and the N1, it also said Verizon would get it the 15th (coincidentally just after the holiday return period ends). I also remember seeing somewhere that the U.S. version of the Bravo/Passion would not have the physical keys that the Bravo in the leaked pictures has. This would lend credence to what newsradio was saying when he describes what the phone looks like.

So, my prediction is this: Google releases Verizon's version of the Nexus One on the 15th. It will not be call the Nexus One though. It will be a different version of it, i.e. the hero and eris. The phone will look like a cross between the Bravo and a Touch HD. The phone will NOT be unlocked like the N1 (I think this has been announced somewhere else). There will still be the option to purchase it outright or subsidize it through Verizon. Unfortunately Verizon did not cooperate with Google and create and alternative pricing plan for customers (like T-mobile did) who did not want to subsidize their phone. Therefore it would not make a lot of sense for a person to buy it outright (unless they knew that they would be switching carriers in less that two years) because they would still have to pay for the same high priced plan.

Also, DROID gets a 50 dollar price cut keeping it competitive with the new phone.

good theory although i do believe the nexus one will stay the way it is when it comes to verizon and have the same name. although i am thinking that the bravo/incredible will be out by verizon to buy directly from them around the same time. it doesnt make sence for the unit to change its name if google is selling it and it just works on verizon towers.

Chances of that? Slim to none, and if it's not FCC approved on Monday, throw slim out the door. Right about now, the best thing we can hope for is a (very) late January release of something, but even that will start dwindling with the lack of anything making an appearance in the FCC database. As a matter of fact, if nothing shows up this week, January is probably out.

I've had my phone for 2 years, it's the Samsung multi flip Verizon texty doohicky. If I place a call with my phone, or if someone calls with my phone I can't hear anything out of my speaker. The only way I use it is in speakerphone mode. Since Before Black-Friday I've been following THIS Thread because I'm waiting for the only phone that seems right for me like all of you are doing. I've been utilizing Google Voice, Google Calendar, Google Wave, Gmail (Of Course) and the only acceptable phone for me is an android, with superior app's (Like Google Voice & Google Wave) capability on the verizon network because I travel a lot. Just don't feel that bad dudes & least your not using a phone that only works in speakerphone mode (Try and see how that feels in a supermarket, or ANYWHERE for that matter)

I went in to a local Verizon authorized retailer, and they confirmed the Passion was coming, but couldn't give a date. I realize this is a 3rd party confirmation and may be false, but hey, it's something.
