i have just manage to update the phone the it now its as if it keeps reebooting it self and wont turn on any ideas :S
How do i mount my sd card? phone doesnt seem to recognize it anymore.
many thanks to everyone who gaave me advice, have managed to update it i am now running android 2.3.2
insert your memory card and reboot the phone i had the same problem and its working fine now
Haha, damn and I just installed 2.2.1 Thanks for these great posts btw! Very much appreciated
i did that, but still doesnt work... there's a fix using the adb, but i dunno how to do that and i dont even know what adb is haha... sry, im too noobish... someone walk me through step by step please?
Adb is an android debug bridge, not sure about one for mounting a mrmory card though have you made sure its not the memory card its self :s
this is taken from the cyanogenmod 6.1 thread:
1. If the flash drive, for whatever reason, does not mount, then through the ADB, give the command: "mount-t vfat-o utf8, umask = 000, rw / dev/block/mmcblk0p1 / sdcard" and then "Settings / Memory / SD-Connect card .
i just dont know where to put that command in cuz i dont know what ADB is... and yes, i know for sure that my sd card isnt dead, i can access it directly on my comp with a card reader.
Slightly pointless but interesting post:
I just found this by messing with it:
I kept pressing on "Version" and this popped up!
I was amused so i took a picture of it
I'm having troubles with Swapper.. I cant seem to get it working, it creates the 600mb swap file, but in setcpu it doesn't show it. it shows 0kb.
Also where can i get swapper? the one im using is from the market..
one doesnt allow up to 600mb and one says its only for 1.6 and below :/
Hey guys.. can you please help me out
Basically i tried to upgrade from 1.6 to 2.3 but during the process i got the same error like Kyle1996 and in doing so my phone got stuck in emergency mode.
I can take the battery off and go into emergency mode again as well as the LG screen logo but other than that i can't do much. Computer doesn't recognise the phone and i just got a virus? like wtf please help me out
Hello guys. I can not install copybit.swift.so ..... The steps I do are: Connect the phone to my pc then put the file in the sd, then unplug the phone, then when I click on the file in ASTRO tells me "Application not available". And when I try to move the files to the / system / lib / hw memory of the phone tells me "Impossible to move the file ".... What should I do??
You dont install it! You move it too "/system/lib/hw"
If you are using root explorer to move the file, press the "Mount R/W" button on the top, move copybit.swift.so into the folder, then make the permission changes then press "Mount R/O" button.
That should do it
I can not .... tell me how step by step please
i solveeed.... THX !!!!
hey dudeman1996 thanks for the article.Nice job again but Gapps doesn't exist gmail and i can't install from market.
Found apk from xda now working...
ADB is included in the Flashing CyanogenMod7.zip folder, just go to cmd and again type
adb mount-t vfat-o utf8, umask = 000, rw/dev/block/mmcblk0p1/sdcard
Yeahh, that's a random Easter Egg they put into 2.3 :')
Did you do this with Swapper 2 from the Market?
Oops, I thought I added it to the first post.. I'll add it now
Can you switch on the phone and go back into 1.6? If so, try the process again
If not, then put the phone into emergency mode and connect it to the computer, then in the KDZ updater change 'PhoneMode' to 'CS_EMERGENCY' and try to flash again.
At last a better stable custom ROM for GT540 has finally landed (not 100% stable though). Anyways, another of your nice tutorials. Thanks!
Also I'd already told you a month ago that they were porting 2.3 to GT540 and now they did. Feeling bad that OpenSwift ain't progressing but a lot better news that we are enjoying Gingerbread now. Thanks again!
Yepp, its not 100% stable but it's almost there, I'm sure it'll get sorted out soon! Np!
Yeahh, there wasn't much going for it then, but now that the ROM is almost perfect, I thought that I should share it with everyone
And yes it goes up to 256mb! :/
