x10 contacts problem

Hi im having problems with my numbers, when i go to contacts i see abut 20 numbers but yesterday i had 200+, i tried to import from sim and it goes throu the motion of importing 200 then they still dont show. When i go to messages or call log all the names are there as if the phones knows them but i cant see them in contacts, hope that makes sense, can anyone help please?
