i have google voicemail setup on my phone now, i was under the impression that when i deleted a voicemail from within google voice it would delete it from my inbox but i keep the voicemail notification icon in my notification bar. is there a way to disable verizon voicemail or perhaps just a way to delete the verizon voicemails without having to actually call *86? thanks

Go to Settings>Call>Voicemail Service>and select Google Voice. It should override the verizon voicemail.

On a side note, has anyone noticed a slight decrease in battery life due to google voice. It's nothing major, but I'd say I'm getting about an hr to an hr and a half less since installing this and it's the only change I've made. I've also noticed that when I look at running services, it tends to be running for a good amount of time, even if I haven't received a voicemail.
