Help G1 Keeps freezing up!

Just got it yesterday. It has frozen up several times. Had to pop out battery and put it back in. Any solves? Anyone having this problem?

I downloaded a bunch of apps and seemed to start directly after.

Hey, just a heads up. If you want to save your email address from TONS of spam, maybe you can re-register with another name? Cause this one will get nuked

i had the same problem, but i had too many text messages saved..i think it was close to 1000..so it kept freezing..eventually i was able to delete them

I think it might have something to do with an app. Had my phone since it came out and had to power many many times because it would laggg here and there. I read somewhere that someone had there phone for like 2 weeks without powering it off, thats BS...running all those damn apps, that shit does lagg....

I had a problem with my phone the other night where I downloaded an app, I dont remember which one because I tried like 3 and I uninstalled because they were lame, my phone started acting up and it was pissing me off. I couldn't receive phone calls, goes straight to Voicemail, MY SMS wouldn't show up in the notification bar and all of a sudden my HOME key stopped functioning...u don't realize how important that key is until it stops working, believe me....TMOBILE was no help, haha.....freaking hour with them trying to get transferred to PDA dept. who was a dumbass at night. I told her I couldn't receive phone calls cuz I was calling from another phone becuz I know she had to run diagnostics on my G1. She kept leaving me voicemails talking about I should answer the next call because it's going to be her. Didn't I freaking tell her I couldn't receive calls, why is she leaving voicemails? hahahahaha........All i had to freaking do was reset my phone and delete everything, it's back to normal.....dumbasses......

i already got a notice that my phone's memory was low because of apps. i didn't want to delete any! but i went thru and got rid of some...

i also had too many texts, that could be a problem as well..but i wasn't deleting like ANYTHING..then it was too late..and now i keep it to a min.

I have been having some major issues with freezing up! My dog chewed up my G1 that I had for 9 months(DOH!) so I had to get a new one. T-mobile sent out a new G1. A week later the touch screen wouldn't work and everything froze. Factory reset didn't work. So I sent that phone back and they sent me another G1. Got it last week, worked great, then the damn thing froze up on me this morning! Took the battery out and turned on with no luck...IT WONT TURN ON!!! So, I'm sending that one back today, hopefully the third phone is the charm! I wont even get into the shipping nightmares I've been dealing with!

the g1 has a limited amount of storage on it.
It also requires that you leave a percentage of that space free so that it can function properly (I can't recall any actual numbers though)
If you're phones lagging it's likely due to too many apps

Couple of things that might help ...

1.) Remove any widgets on your desktop ..

2.) If you are using a Desktop replacement disable it and use stock google desktop

3.) if you are rooted ... it may also have something to do with you ROM build ...

4.) You may have received a poorly remanufactured unit , demand a replacement unit due to these issuses ...
