Droid Headphone Jack

I am loving my Droid so far, but have encountered an.... inconvenience.

When the unit is the GPS dock attached to my windshield, I usually have it plugged into the 3.5mm accessory jack on my stereo. Of course, I am able to listen to Pandora and still get the turn by turn directions via my car audio but when I receive a call an put it on speakerphone, it still uses the phone's onboard speaker.

So, has anyone found a way to configure the phone so that when I put it on speaker the audio is routed out the 3.5mm jack instead of the unit's onboard speaker?

Thanks!

What is the advantage of putting it on speakerphone?

Doesn't the audio come through 3.5mm jack when it's not on speakerphone'?

I don't have to put mine on speakerphone.

Soon as I answer a call if I have mine docked with the 3.5mm audio cable hooked to my car stereo, the sound immediately goes through my car stereo speakers.

Next time just answer the call and don't turn on the speakerphone and see what happens.

Sometimes we cant see the forest for the trees...

(good advice)

Yeah. I overthought the whole gig.

By sheer chance, I had the phone plugged in to the stereo and got a call. To my pleasant surprise, not only was I able to hear the caller through the stereo but he had no idea he was on speakerphone when I was speaking. It works very, very well. :)

Who would have thought that in order to use the phone as a speakerphone that it should not be set to speakerphone mode? :p

The problem with the proposed solution is that the microphone picks up very lightly with speaker phone off and people are always saying "what i can barely hear you".

With the audio in nice speakers its like being there talking to someone, when the sound comes out of the device on speaker phone it sounds like talking to someone with tin cans and a string.

If an app came out that would route speakerphone to the headphone jack I would like it.
