The longer I have it, the more I love it!

I have to say I feel the same way about my moment. I was considering returning it and getting a Droid instead as they're roughly the same price, but thankfully I went to try one out first. Droid has the advantage in screen quality and software, but the Moment has a definite edge in the keyboard and camera quality(Yes, 5MP > 3.2MP, but every photo I took with several Droids looked grainy and washed-out) departments, and those were the dealbreakers for me.

Once I can get my hands on Eclair and readily available 32GB microSD cards, I'll be more than content.

Actually, the Moment has the advantage in screen quality , the Droid has screen quantity.

Gps issues aside, my Moment makes the Touch Pro it replaced seem like a old broken Princess phone

Just walk into a Verizon store and with get a movie trailer up and running on the Droid, and on your Moment. Hold them side by side, and you will notice the difference in brightness, contrast, and in sharpness.

In your opinion, the Moment is better or the Droid?

The only thing the Droid has to offer is the metal case as opposed to plastic for the Moment, Android 2.0, and a 16gb SDHC memory card.

I've subscribed to a few forums on www.Droidforums.net, and am seeing the same issues we are having (like battery issues) happening on that device also, and plus a few others that are unique to the droid (battery cover that falls off).

As of today, in my opinion, the Moment is far better. Just look at the little touch sensitive directional pad, all smartphones should have this. If the Hero had it, I would've considered it. And if you want exacting accuracy you get directional buttons from the physical keypad.

It's interesting that this device (Moment) received so little publicity as compared to the Droid. And just as well, if you look at the amount of posts on the droid forums it's near monumentus. The software being very similar - you can actually learn a lot from Droid Forums.

On top of this, the Sprint plan I'm on as compared to what I would've paid Verizon, well then, it's a no brainer.

I agree it is very surprising how little the coverage has been. Another thing that confused me was reviews that seemed to be searching for things to really dislike about the Moment, then having found nothing major, they would try to nit-pick the smallest of details to not like. It really is one of the most underrated devices I have seen.

I hate that! I think CNET reviews are notorious for that.

Funny that someone mentioned the wiggle, I actually exchanged mine today for a new one because it was making a noise that sounded like loose plastic. The new phone doesn't have that, but I'm concerned it may be inevitable considering the design....the funny thing is I had a cheap LG Xenon for a few months and it never had that problem, but an old pre I saw today was totally loose...oh well.

I LOVE MY MOMENT!!!. its got few problems here and there but what phone doesnt. It may be a bit laggy using the touch keyboard but thats an easy fix and its really not that bad. It may have vanilla android but I really dont care since its my first android phone. I dont know any better XD haha. Im sure once its rooted and custom roms come out, this will be an amazingly fast phone and with sprints network behind it, it cant be beat. STUPID DROID(massively overrated) AND VERIZON HAHA. (former verizoner) hate it hate hate it

Hmm... I haven't heard of this problem yet (in reference to sounding like loose plastic). It's possible it was an isolated issue on that Moment, unless you are extremely abusive with your phones... lol

I sincerely hope it was isolated because the noise was horrible and made the phone sound like a pos. My wives phone does not make that noise and she uses her Moment more than I use mine, the only difference being I carry mine in my pocket and she carries it in a purse.

Ok...so I've had this new Moment 24 hours and now this screen is making a loose clicking sound when it is closed. The noise comes from the left edge of the screen, it must be from carrying the phone in my pocket because I have been extra careful when I use the touchscreen.

My Moment came with two protective clear films. One was on the front, and the 2nd was on the back of the screen - inbetween the keyboard and the top half of the unit. Check for this 2nd protective film to make sure it hasn't folded into a bunch and is now making that clicking noise you speak of.

What a great phone. I am a new Moment owner coming from the Palm Centro. I just got my wife a Pixi and love it. I agonized for hours whether to get the Pre or the Moment.

I did all my internet research. I played with the Hero, the PRE, and the Moment several times. I talked to people that had both phones. I still couldn't decide. The day came to upgrade and I still didn't know which phone I was going to get. My name was called; the Moment of truth. "Which phone do you want to upgrade to?" Uhhh...? Me,"Which phone do you prefer?" She,"I have the Moment." Me, "The Moment it is."

Well, after 2 days and hours of learning, downloading, and using it, I made the right choice. What a great phone, one of the most underrated smartphones. IMHO.

I have played with my wife's Pixi quite a bit and learned webOS fairly well. For what she wants and needs the Pixi is fabulous. I love the Pixi form factor too.

While I feel WebOS is a more effecient UI and is gorgeous to look at, it seems to lack some depth. I hope Palm and WebOS keep coming on because it really is a nice OS. If Palm would have had a decent app market, I probably would have a Pre right now.

The Moment and Android seemed awkward to me at first, hence my hesitation. But after spending some time to customize it for me and download some apps. WOW! It is quite effecient and very customizable. I love it. Fart apps here I come. JK.;)

One of the main reasons I bought the Moment over the Hero was the physical keyboard. However, the more I use the Moment's virtual keyboard the more I like it for quick things. I still like the the PK, because I still hate losing screen real estate. It is nice to have the option of both.

I like the hard voice search and camera buttons.

The screen is gorgeous and doesn't seem to have the blue tint that the store display had.

What I wish it had:

1. I like that the Hero has a hard search button. I seems to take to many steps to get to search on the Moment. Any shortcuts?

2. I am torn on the optical mouse. I feel that the the trackball on the Hero was more precise. I am in the construction field and have dirty hands a lot. I think the mouse will hold up better for me.

3. Google Voice Search. I really was looking forward to Voice to Text. Come on Android 2.0.

4. A GPS that worked. I hate that I wake up on the shore of England after going to sleep in Washington.:D Once I start adding more apps that require GPS like Layar and Locale, this could really be frustrating. I think this and lack of voice search are my two biggest disappointments with the phone. Good news is they both should be fixable with updates.

I love my phone and how it makes my life easier and more enjoyable.

Really? Well, at least someone does. I couldn't stand it after using the Hero before it. I returned the Moment after a week. I'm back to the Pre and sadly thats still not doing it for me. I miss the Hero and will probably go back and get it next week.

the only thing I can imagine you hating about the Moment is the hardware design, which is my one issue with it. is there any thing else you didn't like?

Me neither. I'm just going to keep it there LOL.

I'm waiting for my clearfreak skins to come so I can put a skin on the back of the phone. I'm obsessive about keeping my phone like new. :)

I also have not removed the plastic. But I did order the clearfreak front skin, I also ordered some skins on Ebay, 9.99 for 3 various colors and downloadable wallpapers to match. Seller is 5starskin. I'll do a review when I get them on.

I'll admit I started researching after learning about the Droid a month ago. But the Moment, and costs on Sprint, far outweigh the Droid on Verizon, and the different feel of the keyboards were the deciding factors.

I'm happy, especially with Best Buys $99 price. :D

I couldn't get used to the keyboard layout after a full weeks worth of use (would should be enough time, imo), I didn't like the optical trackball, the voice control software they had built in, or the lack of voice search with the Google search widget. But mostly I just miss all the polishing HTC did with the software on the Hero. If I could have got SenseUI on the Moment I would probably would have kept it because there are times a hardware keyboard comes in handy, even if I haven't become fully used to it.

And please, don't anyone take this the wrong way. I'm not saying the Moment is a bad phone, I'm saying it's not for me.

I dont follow... which is the great device? Hero or Moment? Since you've had both compare them for us.. I'm on the fence myself; dont know which to get. I played with both extensively at the Sprint store several times.

There is another thread that discusses her vs moment. It is likely on the second or third page now. I had the Hero as well and don't miss it one bit....LAG city. Might be pretty but it is slow. I'll take speed over pretty any day.

still wish I could adjust the white balance on the screen. It's the only real thing that annoys the heck out of me. Especially when I still make use of my Hero and Treo Pro. The better overall colors and pop of the screen are a waste when white isn't white. Doesn't mean I'm returning it. I use the Hero as a bedside night clock and for just knocking around. Plus others in my company use the Hero so it helps for troubleshooting purposes as well. I use my Treo Pro because Android is just plain inferior when it comes to PIM functionality.
