Droid X Camera VS HTC Incredible Camera!

So I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.

My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

very nice ... inc files look dull just like my old inc.... i havent messed with the camera on the x yet, but the x files obviously look crisper

I was very surprised at the differences, I really wasn't expecting much. Especially since all the reviews I have read have been so mixed. But I am definitely very pleased!

I guess its safe to say some of the problems cropping up with X's is due to first batch, early adopter syndrome...lol

No, just stock at 6MP Widescreen. I didn't want to adjust anything.

The green leaves in that first Inc picture look super nice. However, the X overall takes way better pictures. I absolutely love the panoramic feature! It's soooo seamless

The Inc seems to focus on the leaves instead of the flowers in that first pic. Is there a way to make these phones focus area wider?

I'm in the market for my first smart phone and I've been leaning towards the X. The camera reviews have had me worried though but you've put those to rest Ms Clitzen.

All the dinc pics look out of focus for some reason.

How was the shutter lag on both? I had the Evo which I think is pretty much the same camera as the dinc and I thought the shutter lag was less on the evo than the dx.

Hmm... I think I'll do a comparison here also since I still have my DInc. It'll be interesting to compare indoor photos, macros, landscapes, night, and such with both cameras on 8MP.

Almost know shutter lag on the DX that I've experienced yet.

The X is a two step camera, once you get the hang of it it os almost impossible not to get perfect pictures.

Incredibles have a focus bug. I would be standing there 10 minutes at a time to try to get it to work. Then when i thought it had, it looked completely different on cpu.

That being said, installing OTA on it and doing more tests. Will post later.

Iv'e managed to squeeze my flower pic in-between the two you have taken. photo was done just point and shoot.

I'm just glad the X isnt as bad as some made it out to be. Seems the Inc is capable of taking good pics too.

Is the OTA update supposed to do anything to the camera quality of the Incredible? I'm going to charge it and then reactive it. Then I'm going to take it out for some direct comparison photos in many different lighting conditions.

Update: I am charging the HTC Incredible and will be taking direct comparison shots of both devices once they're both fully charged tonight and be taking night pics. I will then do day pics when I arrive back home.
