I am really getting sick of the short battery on my Incredible. As much as I hate the physical buttons on the X, I'm still contemplating moving to the X from the Dinc. I still have about 10 days to decide and I was hoping you guys might be willing to share your use of the phone and how long it is lasting...

Here's my example (this is a droid incredible). Yesterday I surfed for about an hour, Pandora for an hour, 20 minutes of phone calls, 5-10 text messages and emails (short ones), and about a dozen photos taken at the lowest res the camera offers (keep 'em small). I played Jewels about an hour total. No GPS, No Wifi for the day. I don't do twitter, facebook, etc. and don't have any apps running that are drains like live wallpapers and other "monitoring" software.

I started at about 7:30 and the phone shut off around 6:40 or so -- about 11 hours. This is with the "bump charge" so I started with a completely full battery.

In my case the Battery on the X lasts a lot less than it did on my Incredible. If I dont touch the phone it will last about 15 hours so the standby time on the box must be in airplane mode with the screen off. Those 15 hrs are with WIFI off, the GPS on but not active, and receiving emails/tweets/IM's every once in a while. If I use the device to surf the web and reply to the email/tweets it will last me about 5hrs. If I add calls to that were down to about 3 1/2 hrs before I'm red-lining. A extended battery will be a MUST for this device. I'm already carrying an Energizer portable charge in my pocket incase I'm away from a charger.

I can't say anything about battery life in relation to the incredible, but im on the interwebs a lot all day and generally text/message all day with sporadic gps and maps, and i usually make it through the day and charge at night. So far so good. If the battery drains quick, i will say its most likely bc i have used the crap out of it.

The Battery life is better than I could have hoped for... 13h 13m 25s since unplugged and currently at 50%

Battery Saver Mode...

Display 60%
Cell Standby 21%
Voice Calls 14%
Phone Idle 7%

Always totals out above 100% not sure why though

It actually got better after the first time I ran the phone down to the point it shut off. Ever since it's been pretty killer :D.

I think the first time you run the phone completely down it allows the battery meter to sync to the battery.

get the 1500 htc for 15.00. i currently do a tad better then that but to tell you the truth. with all you do most smart phones X included will do about the same or a little better.

Thanks for the input, guys. I have purchased a 1500. It has been cycled a couple of times. I'm going to cycle it a few more and see if it gets any better. I haven't really noticed any improvement over stock, but 1500 over 1300 is only about a 15% increase and +- 15% is easy to have just in changing use of apps and demands from day to day.

From initial reports, it seemed people were getting waaaaaay more life out of their X than Dincs.

The X is a 45nm processor vs a 65nm CPU in the Incredible. There is certainly some power consumption savings there and where that would really benefit, I assume, would be CPU-intensive apps like games and such.

15 hours now....3-4 hours heavy use and the usual texting, email reading and 45 minutes talk time, 30 minutes of voice guided navigation on the way home(just for fun).
Literally downloaded 20 apps(2 hours looking through the market). Deleted/"read"(loaded completely) 160 emails because I hate seeing that big number on my mail widget.

=

30% battery left

Display 74%
Cell Standby 11%
Voice Calls 6%
Maps 5%
Phone idle 3%
Compass 2%
Camera 2%

been messing around w/ the settings but so far i like putting it smart mode w/ data timeout for peak hours @ 15 mins. - off peak 12-5am. brightness is down 20-30%. screen time out to 30 seconds. 22hs since uplugged right now n battery is at 50%. semi-heavy usage, mostly txt/mms. 10-20 mins of web browsing on wifi. listening to music right now on it using bluetooth. so far so good.

I cant tell if my battery is good or not. Lasted all day while on airplane mode, and as soon as I start doing stuff, it runs down. I have a new phone coming in the mail to replace this one (had broken camera before OTA update...), so I'm hoping they also send a new battery (and a non-refurbished phone (i hear they won't as there aren't enough that have been sent back and fixed or whatever, true?)). I just got the Auto Advanced Task Killer today so I'm hoping that will help with my battery life tomorrow.

Seems like your battery life is actually decent. Streaming music sucks batteries down. For the X, my battery life has been pretty good. I unplug at about 6am and can generally get up through about maybe 2pm until I need to break out the old car charger. But I'm emailing all day, watching Youtube, texting contantly, reading blogs at stoplights, etc. So I use the crap outta my phone and still get a good eight hours before having to plug in. Oh yeah, and I make phone calls with it too! It's a better battery than I had on my BB Curve and my original Droid. Seems about comparable to the iPhone 4 battery (which I owned for about three weeks).

I did battery saver mode. The screen is set to auto brightness. GPS off, Wifi usually on, bluetooth off....

Yesterday, my phone went from 7:15am until 11:00pm. When I plugged it up, I was at 30%. During all this, I txted about 10-20 times. Browsed the web for at least 1 hour if not about 2. Voice called for about 30-45 minutes. Played in the market place for about 30 minutes. My eris would've been dead by 6pm....

Oh, and yesterday I was in a bad area of cell reception, taxing the battery for about 6 hours. Therefore, all in all, I can not complain at ALL.

*Edit* I also used pandora for about 30 mins...

I am not sure...I know for sure the last time it was plugged in....I know there are apps to do both...but I can tell you that I know for sure, this is the best battery life of any smart phone I have had....And I was really afraid of that because of the big screen, but it doesn't necessarily suck your battery life as long as you don't spend 4 hours a day without letting it turn off...

My battery usage has been great. My wife has the Incredible and my batter definitely lasts longer. I typically keep wifi off because I have strong 3g reception in my area. I also shut gps off unless I need it for something. I don't use bluetooth because I have an audio jack on my car stereo that use when im on the car dock. I am guessing keeping those off has had a big impact on battery life being pretty good. Yesterday I went through about 16 hours with only a half our charging in the car dock in between and still wasn't in the warning area on the battery. That was with a fair amount of using google docs, kindle, Dolphin web browser, and a few games

Today it was (before 20% plug in warning):
8hr 20m 53s
Display: 82%
Cell Stand by: 13%
Phone idle: 4%
Voice calls: 3%

I barely used it for calls, did a little web surfing, and about 30min of XiiaLive streaming (highest buffering). Since the update the battery longevity has taken a noticeable hit.
I use beautiful widgets weather (but not the live wallpaper) and am wondering if it's normal or worth considering replacement options.
