Switching from an iPhone... need your help :-)

Hi guys,

I bought an HTC Desire today and so far I like it quite a bit. My phone is stupidly important to me as it's my work diary, satellite navigation, e-mail system and oh yeah, my phone as well :D

I have a few questions that I hope you can help with:

1. What is the best way to sync my current iPhone data to the HTC? I've just fully sync'd my 3GS with iTunes so everything should now be on the PC but I don't know how to transfer it all to my Desire

2. When browsing forums on the Desire, it seems to show only one thread at a time rather than the entire page and all replies as you'll be viewing right now on your Laptop etc. Is there a way of changing this... perhaps I need a different web browser app?

3. On the iPhone, there's a program called "Cydia" and also "Installous" whereby you can download lots of new things that people have created etc. Is there anything like this for Android... the "Market" is only the equivalent of the "App Store" and too "official".

4. E-mail seems a bit basic. On my 3GS, if I receive an e-mail from say eBay, it includes pictures and looks how it would on my laptop. Howver on the HTC Desire, I'm only really getting basic text and can't find a way to convert this to receiving HTML e-mails or whatever I need to change it to. Is there something I'm missing or an alternative e-mail application I could use?

That's all I can think of for now but any help with these issues and any other tips you have would be greatly appreciated :eek:

Sync contacts and calendar to gmail. Sync to your Android phone.

Not sure what you're talking about, since the Android browser is capable of rendering pages just like on a desktop.

Uh. You don't need a Cydia on Android because anyone can put damn near anything on the market. There're few restrictions; short of copyright violations and malware, Google doesn't pull apps off the market. This isn't Apple. Are you asking about pirating apps? If so, this isn't the place to ask. Forum rules here aren't friendly to piracy, for obvious reasons.

There're also alternative markets etc, some of them legit and some less so. Haven't used any of them, though.
