Android: Is Google Voice Actions before the time???

The thing is, the voice command has been around for a while now, even before android, but in my experience with it, it works better on Android than it has on any other phone I have ever owned. I have to agree that I can't wait to see the improvements to this feature in the future, and like you I don't use it, because your right, we don't speak perfectly, It's kind of annoying to have to keep repeating myself for it to get it right.

I hope voice commands for phone is an epic fail, I don't want to hear people talking to their phones all the time. I'd rather just touch an icon or type on a keyboard. ONLY time I ever use it on my phone is when making a call in the car, that way I can initiate the call without having to look away from the road. Also, I'm not bothering anyone else when I do that.

Um, ain't that the point of a phone, to talk into it? And, I think I've been seeing people talking to/ on their phones for years. ;)

Hearing one side of a conversation is a lot different than someone in the next cubicle over dictating texts and all the other commands they might be using. "Open internet, go to 'phandroid.com'... no, spell it p-h-a-n-d-r-o-i-d-dot-c-o-m. Open post 'Google Voice Actions'... no, don't open Google Voice! Back! Nevermind, close internet. Open Solitaire." And this kind of thing would probably be going on a lot more frequently than phone calls. With those, people tend to want a little privacy and will wander off somewhere quiet. But when giving commands to a phone, I don't see them worrying about that or even realising they are bothering people until a stapler comes arcing up over their cubicle wall.

There are times when dictating a text or email is very convenient. This will come in handy in those situations. I don't see people using it full time... only when they can. Right now I use voice commands for making calls and dictating addresses for Navigation and which works great. IMO, it's better to have it and have the option to use it than not have it at all.
