Root Help! FROYO BUGS! Strongly considering flashing SBF right now...

So I upgraded to 2.2 today, retained root, restored everything with Titanium Backup and everything ran pretty smoothly at first, but now these issues are starting to creep up. Here are some things that have me stuck right now...any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

1. SMS timestamp issue: All incoming messages are about 5 hours OFF. Apparently this is only an issue with ChompSMS/Handcent, but I don't want to use the stock msging app.

Update

Tried: Clearing cache, reinstalling, rebooting, factory reset

2. Sync Icon stuck: I have a sync icon that won't go away. This may be because of facebook (Social Networking) syncing, which brings me to issue number 3...

Tried: Clearing cache, rebooting, factory reset

3. Can't remove facebook account: I get an error everytime I try to remove it from the accounts. The reason I'm trying this is because it's been about 4 hours and facebook hasn't linked a single profile. I've tried over 3G and wifi, and it's not working. Trying to remove/readd, but can't.

Tried: Same as 2

4. Battery Manager FC This happens sporadically. It will work for 30 minutes, and then it won't...and then it'll just work again.

5. Market Downloads Stuck Market was working flawlessly until about half an hour ago. Some apps will install just fine, but others won't download. For example, I know for a fact that Handcent SMS has "downloaded", but when it reaches 100% it'll just stay stuck and then say "Downloading".

Tried: Rebooting, using AppBrain

As of right now, I'm strongly considering going back to 2.1 and waiting for these bugs to be flattened out. I do love the faster browsing and smooth LPP though, and I've been craving Froyo for a long time. Any help?

I don't think I can offer any help, but I have the stuck sync icon in my notification bar up top. It's right next to the 3G logo, and it really does annoy me.

I guess it isn't hurting anything, but the only accounts I have are an unused Backup Assistant and my Google account. I don't know what else to do to make the icon go away, so for now I am just dealing with it.

have you tried doing a factory data reset yet

I tried a factory reset after issues 1 and 2. It didn't solve them, but it did temporarily solve the battery manager FC issue. But that issue just keeps popping up. Sometimes it'll FC, other times it'll work perfect.

I may try another factory reset, but I'm wondering if I should do a Koush Recovery instead of backing up everything from Titanium. Any benefits of the former to the latter?

if you backup with a nandroid it is an exact image of what your phone looked like at that time so if you restored it would have all those bugs. TiBu backs up your apps + their data. So I would do both then if you wan to go back to 2.1 wipe data and cache, flash the sbf then restore with TiBu

Gotcha thanks.

If I backup with Koush's Recovery in 2.2, will it load up in 2.1?

Also: I got Handcent downloaded. I updated the build.prop with the mod mentioned in that other thread and the market seems to be working fine now.

So I guess it's not a fb sync issue. I can live with it, but I thought it might have something to do with my social networking not syncing with my contacts (or syncing really slowly). Looks like the mystery grows!

I had a stuck sync icon once on 2.1 so it may not be a froyo only thing. . Its also not doing anything (syncing), at least mine wasn't. So I just left it alone and it eventually went away

Can you uninstall facebook ? that should remove the account but I'm just guessing.

If your text app isnt compatible don't blame the OS. either get on the developer for a fix or find something else.

Are you guys sure you are seeing the sync icon and not media share notification icon?

Yeah it's next to the 3G icon. THe media appears on the left side for me.

Also, I think it may be google syncing contacts to the phone. I'll keep y'all updated on whether or not it goes away after all my contacts are done syncing.

Only issue I have is the battery. When you click the batt icon to see whats eating the batt up it force close...
Other than that no issues what so ever.
I made sure my phone was 100% stock, with no apps or nothing on the SD card before I began the whole process to install froyo.

If your having issues do it all over. Make sure your 100% stock and with no apps.
Back up SD card to your PC. Then erase anything on the SD card.
Flash to 2.1 via SBF.
Then once your at 2.1 do a factory reset.
Then root. Move to root to xbin.
Then put update zip on SD card.
Then install froyo.
Then put everything back.

found out I have this :(

LOL. You make sound like you've got Herpes or something.

Do you have root? Could that have anything to do with it? I don't and have not had it FC ever.
Although the wifi AdHoc settings do FC every time though so maybe not.

Also, does the batter profile overrule the wifi settings? Wifi sleep is set to 'never' but I end up dropping the connection whenever the screen goes off.

I had the same problem with Handcent. The solution for me was to rename or remove the stock messaging app. In Froyo it appeared to be interfering with Handcent. I have no scientific proof to back that statement up, but as soon as I removed "messaging.apk" and "conversations.apk", the timestamp issue went away.

Hope this helps...

the battery info bug comes and goes though, sometimes I can check and sometime not. Oh well I knew this was a leak and not finally (its beta) and you should have also. If you weren't prepared for bugs you shouldn't have upgraded.

I dare say the final will also have many bugs, just look at the phone threads that have OTA to 2.2 they're full of bug reports. It's the nature of the beast.

everyone bitches and complains it's not out and then they bitch and complain when they get it....

I am hoping that I will never install the real deal, I want custom ROMs:D

you will not receive MMS messages if you do this.

the only bug I've had is the lock screen lag, and the the time stamp on sms. Everything else is working perfectly. I understood that this was a leak and that it would come with bugs. its nothing I'm not willing to live with. I hope we get a new leak soon that addresses some of these issues. As long as they allow us to maintain root thru all this, I'm good.
