So I bought the Droid about 2 weeks ago and am rather disappointed. First, about every 2 days my text messages get a forced closed message and erases all of my messages. Second, when someone calls me the screen goes blank. I understand its supposed to when its against your ear but it stays blank even when I go to hang up. Don't even get me started on email. Somehow all of my emails erased (AOL account not Google). I have no clue what happened. All I did was login, then boom even my saved messages were gone. Thanks Droid. I think this phone has the capabilities to be great but Verizon needs to get with Motorola and find out why this phone is not the iPhone killer it was supposed to be. I would like to give the Droid another shot so I'm gonna wait and see what happens after this update (I think 12/11). But the messaging is my biggest discrepancy as well as my email as I am a customer service Rep for a pharmaceutical company. This needs to be fixed.

Return it.. Its defective and you should first play with another Droid prior to making judgments. This is actually the fasted phone I had.

Wow thanks for reading my post before making assumptions. I definitely stated "I would like to give the Droid another shot so I'm gonna wait and see what happens after this update (I think 12/11)." As I stated before, I am a Customer Service Rep for a Pharmaceutical company. I was gonna get the iPhone because it has proven it's reliability and I have several friends that have it. I need a phone like that since the H1N1 flu is out and about. I have never seen any lag on their 3GS and they claim they haven't had any problems. Verizon told me that the Droid is similar in every way to the iPhone and then they just kept lowering the cost. So I decided to stay. I saved about $230. But if the Droid keeps having problems, then that's $230 I should have spent anyways. But "as I have stated before", I am willing to give the Droid another shot because it is a very capable phone. Now please read "Everything" in my post prior to making assumptions.

I think sho's point is that you should return the droid you currently have and get a new droid. it sounds as if something is wrong with your particular phone. if that is the case, the 12/11 update isn't going to do you any good. might as well get a phone that functions as well as it can before the update before your 30 days is up
