Non-contract Legend: how will 2.2 update work

I bought my Legend in Hong Kong, stuffed my vodafone sim in and then on my return to the UK negotiated a sim-only data deal with them.

How will the Froyo update work for my Legend. Do Vodafone "know" I have a legend and push it out? Or is there some other mechanism?

If it's a Vodafone branded phone (vodafone splash screen) then you will have to wait for them to make it available, but if it's unbranded then you will get the update directly from HTC, and you will get the update sooner.

OK, thanks - I'm in the latter camp, so no waiting for me! Well, apart from they haven't announced a release date yet...
