Help Updated to 2.2, now app randomly dissappear

Because you've only had it, what, a month?

Seriously, if you think that 2.2 is nothing but a headache then you haven't read a lot in the forums - those of us with it working correctly love it except for a few poor moves made on Google's part, and now VZW is releasing the new 2.2 update (I suppose you can call it 2.2.1) which you need to have 2.2 on your phone in order to have installed.

I have posted time and time again that the original update that patched your 2.1 system files to build 2.2 had issues to begin with, and a lot of people are finding factory resets and / or re-applying the master 2.2 update on their phone to be problem solvers.

however, you also have to realize that all your apps were installed under 2.1 and the system patching does not account for app instability in 2.2 - there is no application compatibility checking performed.

The choice is yours - but even if you go to 2.1 you'll be starting from scratch - there is no way to keep your apps installed and revert.

Yeah, A month of crap! I'm glad those of you who have it working are enjoying it but in case you didn't get the memo, it isn't for me and I'm not enjoying it. I have tried reinstalling 2.2 and it didn't help. And I did read a lot in the forums, I'm not seeing this glowing praise for 2.2 that you are talking about, just a lot of "2.2 issue" titles stuff. Also, If I had received this 2.2.1 update that you speak of that is supposed to fix all ails and I had fixed my issue then why would I be posting this in the first place?

I appreciate your contribution to this thread john but the flaming was a little unnecessary.

I wasn't trying to flame you I was making a point - a lot of people have had issues with the update, but a good number of those with issues have had them resolved by doing what you don't want to do - perform a factory reset and start from scratch.

As I said, the choice is yours - but if you have to reset regardless of whether you revert to 2.1 or reset and start from scratch on 2.2, don't you think you owe it to 2.2 to see if it works a lot better if you *do* perform the reset?
