Depends on what case you're talking about. Some of them can be modded to fit. With a soft silicone case you can make a couple slits so the back stretches over the battery without pulling the sides out of shape (I punch round holes at the end of the slits to keep them from tearing out). For hard silicone or snap-on cases it usually means cutting a hole in the back for the battery to stick out. (I'm assuming you mean the 2150mAh extended battery sold by Verizon. There are a number of others, some the same dimensions as the stock battery.)
