Want opinions on Milestone

I'd like to buy this phone but I have the not so pleasant experience with the X10 (short battery life and volume).
What is opinion on this droid? Does the battery life has improved compared to X10? The volume of the calls is louder? Or are there the same problems?

I like this one better because of the keyboard and because I fell in love with the Android system (tried to go back to Nokia but I'll surely miss the Android).

1. X10 is still on Android 1.6 which is outdated.
2. Battery life is not good and will not be better than X10, these are phones with big screens and on-line 24/7.
3. Milestone will be getting Android 2.2 by the end of the year which means faster UI.
4. Milestone can be overclocked which gives good speeds and perfect stability with no effect on the battery.
5. Milestone has much better built quality than X10 IMO.

IMO Motorola is a better device and you wil be more happy with it than with X10. Do not hope for the battery life you remember from Nokia though, not even close.

x10 vs Milestone, milestone wins for sure, but do note that it's not the newest "most powerful" phone out there. It doesn't have as much ram as those shiny new htc's, and the processor isn't the strongest one out there (on the other hand, it's pretty damn easy to overclock it)
Some people actually care about having the "newest"/ -"shiniest" phone out there, so I felt like it was worth mentioning. If you're not that guy (which isn't that likely, considering you don't want an iPhone) go for it, the milestone is awesome. I bought it two weeks ago and I don't regret it one single bit.

Well, let me put it this way.

Battery Life: I get a day to a day and a half on a single charge, it is my primary phone so it is never off. It stays on all day at work on silent mode and the screen dimmed but also syncing E-mails.

Build Quality: I am maybe a little over 6 foot and recently dropped the phone from mid torso onto concrete with no damage that I have noticed and no ill effect to the phone it's self.

Keyboard: If you can't get used to a soft keyboard and you write a lot of full E-mails on your phone then this is most definitely a great feature.

To be honest I plan to keep my Milestone till my contract is up and I change carriers, assuming they have a phone I like.

You will get one day out of it.

You will get used to the keyboard too.

Ya one day if your using it a lot. When I'm around my computer I can get a day and a half. I hardly use my keyboard now that I have slide it on screen keyboard. Can I ever type fast with that! Works so well people hardly get a few words out and I've typed a small paragraph lol!
