Newbie Questions #4: How in hell... ?

Hey, since there's a new android version coming out, I have some questions, how will the installation process be? Like a normal build update, or is it different, if it's different, can someone please elaborate on how to install it?

Please make it a detailed guide, as I am really new to this stuff.

when it will come out u have to decide as u want htc stock or modded rom(MCR)
if u go for stock it is pretty much like any exe file.
but for MCR u have to look for guides---- they are plenty

I'm concerned about stock versions, does it mean it's an .exe which will install like the normal build updates?

Yes, the official Android 2.1 update will probably be exactly the same process as going from 1.76 to 2.73. They will likely just have you install Sync, plug in your phone via USB, and then run an RUU exe that you download from their site.
