Root Deodex for 2.2 ota?

What didn't work? You couldn't get root, or you couldn't get ADB working? ADB really is pretty easy. You're probably just overlooking something simple.

Good luck with TBH. Hope it goes well.
You know what i overlooked???
I had the same "problem", right after i put "su", i got errors after another line i put in.
I just FORGOT look at my phone, and did not see that Super user request!!!! After i allowed it, all went smooth! Hope this would help other noobs like me. :D

I get adb not recognized as interal or exteral.... What do I do please help?

I THINK when I had that error the reason was I didn't check my screen at the right time to allow superuser permission. I would check the "screen always on" box below debugging so you will see it when it comes up instead of constantly checking after the screen dims.

I did every thing reboot from command prompt and now stuck at M logo and it won't factory reset.

do a battery pull first just to be sure its stuck at M logo (I know some people say it doesnt do anything by pulling the battery, but it couldnt hurt at this point)
If that doesnt fix it then I'd look at grabbing the system sbf and going that route

Quick (dumb) question...how do you move the "done_app" and "done_frame" folders to the sdcard directory?

Also, do I need to switch back to PC Mode before inputting the commands?

Thanks!

with the phone plugged into your computer with the usb cable, put your phone in usb mode (usb mass storage?) then your computer should prompt you if you want to open to view file. do that, then you should be able to copy and paste the two files onto your sd card

and yes, pc mode when putting in the adb commands

Don't flash 2.1 if you have the OTA.. you'll brick your phone!
i do have the ota but my phone is stuck at the logo
Then do NOT try to sbf back to 2.1,, you'll brick your phone for certain. Look in the root forum here for help getting back to working.
Gareee, please pay more attention to the thread. It was suggested that he use the partial 2.2 SBF to reflash his /system/ directory. No one said anything about trying to downgrade to 2.1.

Actually Eric came in late in the game, and no where in his post OR the replies to him was any mention at all of which version.

Since is he does not know what he is doing he could have easily bricked his phone, I'd say it is far better to be safe then sorry.

Maybe pay more attention yourself next time? ;)

We're in a thread discussing deodexing. Last time I checked, 2.2 is odexed and 2.1 is not. Why would we be talking about 2.1?
