Android pdf reader for large files - like Goodreader

I've had a look at the existing PDF readers,

I've tried Repligo which amazingly doesn't seem to allow full screen, and also seems a little - blurry? At least it remembers what page I'm at.

The Adobe reader seems to render oddly when I zoom in - doesn't remember where I am in huge files when I close the program, and is generally really short on options.

I'm used to Goodreader on the iphone - that had cropping, you could lock your zoom level so you could freely scroll around without having to readjust for columns - it was just really good. Is there anything like that?

Not sure why RepliGo wouldn't go full screen for you, but it does have a "Reading View" from the menu, which it sounds as if you missed. It also is the best app for handling very large PDFs or DRM protected PDFs that I have found.

I'm using the trial version so not sure if it's disabled the better features.

Reading view is just a zoomed out single page? Page view is closer in won't go full screen i.e. I can still see the android bar and name of the file taking up room.

Also can't go straight to a page of my choosing...

Ahhh ... it's possible the trial version doesn't have everything. On mine, I can pinch to zoom to almost any size in the standard Page view, while the Reading View reformats the entire page to make it fit the phone's screen with easy to read type. Because it supports embedded fonts, resizing still makes for very clean, crisp text for reading. The menu has options to go to a specific page, or you can jump to bookmarks, see a table of contents, whatever.

I mainly got it for my technical manuals which can be a few hundred pages so I needed something that would handle very large standard PDFs and the ability to show clear graphics. I tried a few before I settled on this one and have found it to be very reliable. You might want to try the paid version and if it doesn't meet your needs, just remove it within 24 hours and you will get a full refund.

Hmm - from the comments I've read on the full app - it definitely doesn't do full screen - an annoying omission! And I don't think you can skip straight to the page you want.

I own it, it definitely doesn't do full screen. But you can go to any page you need, that is well supported. I do wish it had a 'bookmark' feature independent of PDF bookmarks so you could make multiple shortcuts. I use it for a songbook mostly, but if you are in a meeting it would be handy to jump to predetermined parts of a doc as needed.

It doesn't do full screen on your phone? It certainly does on mine. It would be very hard to read if it didn't do full screen. I use a Nexus One, and I can assure you, it does full screen easily. You're correct about being able to create your own bookmarks with it, though. I got around that by editing the pdf on my computer and then saving to the phone, but I admit that seems a letdown for an otherwise great app.

It does full-screen without the Android bar? How do you get it to do that? I always see the time, battery etc. Unless you mean it zooms to full-screen PDF view, which I don't think is what we are talking about here.

All sorted out now - get ezPDF - it's 61p (99 cents), does full screen, pinch to zoom, bookmarks, and horizontal lock. Well impressed.

And Repligo does not do full screen! Just to clear that up!
