Help Removing Bloatwares

TB doesn't seem to be working for me. I got my Vibrant about 2 weeks ago, rooted it, downloaded TB and used it to remove bloatware. The most recent update bricked my phone, so I returned it for another. Downloaded TB (free version, which is what I had previously) and it's different. Can't erase bloatware. Can't erase anything. This version appears to be strictly for making backups. I also tried the free version of AndroidMate, and can't delete anything with that either.

Those of you using TB, are you using the free or paid version?

Thoughts on what else might be going on?

Thanks,
Greg

Are you certain new phone rooted? Titanium Backup should be able to remove the bloatware. I've not heard of the free version having the restriction of not being able to remove apps.

I suggest as well, if you're going to run a rooted phone, that you do yourself a favor and pay the few bucks for the full version of Titanium. There are some programs, lnotably TB and ROM Manager, that in my opinion one has no good excuse to not buy the full version.

Pretty sure it's rooted. I have the 'Superuser' App on it now. I rooted using the update method. I used this method on my previous Vibrant and it worked just fine. That's what surprises me. Same phone, same root method, installed TB on both, but the 'new' TB has won't let me remove bloatware. :(
The only difference is the second phone downloaded an OTA update on Saturday. I rooted it Sunday.
(FWIW, this same update bricked my previous phone, which I'd already rooted and had working well.)

Just noticed- the 'update' method mentions something called 'busybox' as part of the install. After rooting, I don't have busybox. Downloaded it from the app market, but haven't installed it yet. Not sure what 'make sure Nand is unlocked' means. Trying to do some research on that right now.

Status update: Tried to install busybox. Application says phone is rooted, busybox not found.
Application failed either because device isn't nand unlocked or unable to remount.
Now I'm starting to get out of my depth. I'm thinking maybe I should re-root? Is that as simple as reinstalling the 'update' file from above?

Update- removed TB, put phone in restart mode, reinstalled 'update' file, still no busybox. Re-downloading TB, will see what happens.

Resolved- re-installed TB, had it download busybox, looks like the issue has been resolved.

Okay, glad to hear you figured it out. Sometimes things are a pain, but usually when they are, you're more likely to remember how to do things next time as well as being able to help others with similar problems. :)
