Very true, bargains to be found out there.

Whoa whoa whoa, hold up, naths didn't accuse you of anything.

If I read right (and I like to think I am)..naths is basically saying how expensive the auction can potentially get and it will be cheaper online or maybe even in store.

He didn't say you was going to buy from Ebay (unless I missed something?)..But he isn't stating a fact so to speak, he's making a suggestion?

Otherwise........what? Are they sending them out Thursday or not? Grrrrrrr.....lol

Considering how HandTec claim they're well-in with HTC, it seems they're being left behind with the stock deliveries. Maybe HTC have been hanging out till they get a batch without the light sensor issue?? lol.....hope so.

......
Gotta patiently wait for Friday then..........<sigh>

Guess they are just dependent upon HTC/logistics getting deliveries to them like the rest of us. I also guess there is a deal that if Vodafone want more, they will get Handtecs (or others) sim only supplies.

Sad really. I got my desire very early and from the first batch that Handtec got in. Seems that I've been trumped by contract deals this time grrrr

So finally giving a proper post since having this phone since about 4pm yesterday. So far it is awesome. The screen is brilliant,so clear and colourful. It's so smooth to touch, flies through each screen with ease.Only used the 3g slightly, but works perfect. The camera is brilliant, just excellent, event he camcorder is brilliant quality. The browser works perfect, been on this forum and others I go on,you zoom in with ease to login and when reading the forum it formats the page to fit well when reading posts. It's not as heavy as I thought it would be,so slim as well.Only time I felt a bit of "lag" from the phone is when I sent over near 300 pictures over bluetooth from my old phone. Made a fair few phone calls and haven't had a problem with it cutting me off or freezing etc. Overall I'm loving this phone so far

how is the battery performance for you so far?
I pulled it straight from the box, wasn't properly charged (about 50%) at about 4, it lasted till about half 7 with me doing everything on it.But after that I was sat in bed playing on it while it charged,I left it off all last night while it transferred 300 bluetooth photos while I slept.Woke up and it had about 70% left.

hmm.. not bad. i'm not a heavy user so i guess the battery should be great for me. :)

glad youre enjoying it ala

i still havent got mine yet :( they said sotck arrived yesterday but obviously didnt get processed yet

Well speaking of battery performancem may i digress for a bit?

In order to maximized battery longevity, should one completely charge then discharge the battery on a daily basis for the first week to "stretch the battery's legs" ?

Not sure if it helps anyone but I ordered mine from T-Mobile direct (UK) yesterday, had to upgrade direct for various reasons but they reckon they'll be shipped out today.
Watch you don't get sent the Desire by accident, happened to me,long story short they were rubbish, cancelled my contract and sign up all together instead of just sending the HD when it came in,told me I would have to sign up all over again if I wanted the HD

That's bad! The guy on the phone seemed pretty switched on so fingers crossed everything will be ok. Hopefully the picking guy will be just as good! I'm not too keen on T-Mobile at the best of times but I'm kinda stuck with having poor credit, it's upgrade or nothing. :(

As it is I'm having to pay over the odds, gutted. :(

Been on the phone to HTC about a different issue, but we got chatting about the Desire HD, and they stated it is NOT officially released yet, and that all the early stock was recalled due to being faulty, maybe some of the problems people are having is with early faulty stock?

Really? This is a serious issue. Those that got their Desire HDs should definitely send them back. I wouldn't pay 400+ for a faulty stock. Doesn't matter if you get it earlier than everyone else. I bet half of them don't even know that yet. Those phones were probably going to be recalled or something. Tut tut.

Wait and see if that's actually the case or not. Quite often one person in a large company like this has no idea what others are saying.

Hell, look at the mess Samsung are in over the Galaxy S.

Anyway, I don't think you can return your phone because 'I read on a forum that someone says they're all faulty'.

To be honest, it's not suprising there's no consistancy in selling sim free in P4U and CPW. Phone shop margin's on sim free handsets are far less than if on a contract, further more, staff and the store it self won't make any comission from sim free handsets. Whenever they say no to selling sim-free, there's another chance they'll sell it with a contract and be a little further to their target.

It sucks but it's all about the money with them, luckily, there are a few members of staff who either don't care or are truely passionate about providing the customer with good customer service.
