I don't want to have anymore pre-installed junk on my phone, espically v-cast stuff that will charge you extra per month if you use them. If this is true, I'm going to root my phone as soon as this update gets pushed and blow it all away.
Wait, wait, wait, did I read that right? This update will install more v-cast junk on our phones? This line here worries me:

I know the devs will. It just makes me mad that Verizon keeps putting apps on OUR phones that nickel and dime us to death. I even saw in the full release that they are installing an improved version of CityID. I hate wireless companies.

This is just VCAST App store. It is like Market but allows you to charge apps to your Verizon bill. Means you can buy an app and pay for it with your monthly bill.
Rooted, not worried about it. Junk in . . . junk out. My cell phone bill is large enough thank you, don't really need to bill my apps to my cell bill. If I can't pay for them at the time I want them, then I don't need them. Hopefully the only developers that submit new apps to them will be the ones on their payroll.
Agreed, I will wait until I experience it first before passing some sweeping preconceived judgment on it. Not all change is evil...it could be better than Market...just have to wait and see.
Top of the 2nd page, last thing in the 2nd column.
If only 1 page of the PDF loads, keep clicking refresh till it does. Theres something weird with that PDF and it doesn't load correctly.
This makes it sounds like that its not just the v-cast market that will be installed. The idea of the v-cast market allowing apps to be charged on your bill is interesting, but I've never downloaded an app that you have to pay for. So for me, it really doesn't matter.
I am not happy about this separate Verizon VCast app store nor am I happy with them pre-installing their apps that I won't use on my phone. Having a separate tab in the Android Market for Verizon supported Apps was enough.
This really bothers me. I already have enough bloatware, I'm sick of that "low on space" notification I get a few times per week. I'm sure this crap-packed update won't help.
