Are you covering your Droid or leaving it as is?

The screen is definitely not scratch proof. I don't know where any of you got that impression.

I did in fact drop mine on on some concrete face first last week. The raised edge around the screen took most of the brunt but a corner of the screen has definite scratch marks.

I would mostly want a protector to remove finger prints either way but agree the glass feels best out of the ones I've tried.

Invisible shield and skinomi are exactly the same rubber material if anyone is looking at those. Just ordered the boxwave static ones to try as I kept getting dust under the sticky kinds and ruining. Thanks for the link.

Not scratch proof, but it is definitely scratch resistant. It is glass, so it is much harder to scratch than most plastic phone screens. Sand and concrete will scratch it though.

I never really drop my phone, and keep it in my pocket. With my old phone that was plastic my car keys, change and just about everything else in my pocket would scratch it, now with my droid after a month i have not a single scratch.

I always keep my phone in my pocked and am mindful of what combination of things I keep in each pocket. My keys are always in my right pocket and my phone is always in my left pocket.

My previous phone I had for a year which was a crappy Sony Ericsson still looked brand new when I retired it in favor of the Droid.

I got myself a skiknomi skin then spent 6 bucks on a case from ebay. Spend the cash the get a good skin for the screen then go cheap on a case. The moment you drop it, it gets scratched or messed up. Why pay 20 bucks for it. The bulk is the only issue tho. The top row is a little diffult to get used to. But I just sold my dare for 100. The 10 dollar case lasted me a year and a half.

Except, the glass isn't scratchproof. I have had my droid for a week, and this morning when I looked at it, there were 3 small scratches on the screen. I haven't dropped it, bumped it up against things, or kept it in a pocket, so you can imagine my surprise. I've ordered a phantom skin for mine--I already have the bodyglove case, which I love.

I went with the Invisible Shield and the Body Glove after about a week and a half of almost paranoid protection of the device. I just KNEW I was going to drop the Droid sooner or later, and when I finally did I was glad it was protected. At first I thought the Invisible Shield would be a sacrifice, but it actually helps me from hitting the wrong keys or icons. I think the screen was almost TOO sensitive before, it feels better, has less glare and doesn't get finger-smudges as easily. Now I am looking for a car mount that rotates and will hold the gloved Droid. Any suggestions?

Have you tried wiping the scratches away? I used to think I was getting scratches on my watch when I realized it wasn't a scratch but just a tiny piece of paint the watch took from whatever it scratched.

Edit: actually have noticed some small scratches on mine but can only see them when the phone is off. Doh.

I never really have seen the point in getting cases. Your trying to protect your phone from scratches ect. so it doesn't look like crap. But what is the point if you keep the case on until you get rid of the phone? You can't see the phone with the case on anyways, so what the point of protecting it from scratches? I think it looks better without any cases, but that is just my opinion.

I use BodyGaurdz for my full body protection on most of my devices. It is less "spongy" than Invisible Shield, cut perfectly and costs less than Ghost-Armor because you get two for the price of one. I have used it on six phones now. With the Droid, the device itself didn't really look that nice to me with the square blocks on the back, so I went in search of a case. Seidio produces an Innocase Surface series that works incredibly well. Roughly 1mm thick, it does not add much bulk to the device but it smooths out the edges and makes it look MUCH nicer. It fits over 90% of my BodyGaurdz so I can remove it if needed and still have most of the device protected from scratching in my pocket. In reality though, I haven't removed it since I got it two weeks ago.

Yep--we have a box of Zeiss lens cloths, because I'm the most anal retentive person ever about smudges on glasses/macbook screen/phone, so when I got home, I tried that, and it's definitely scratched. Grr. :(

First the glass is very hard to scratch...and it shows the least number of finger prints in my opinion...Next i had the shell holster case and the loosened the hell out of my screen. The tabs that go under the screen from the top part of the case are way too big and stretched out the screen away from the keyboard on the left side...Just a heads up...I have a thread about this as well

To each their own opinion--I owned an iPhone for a year and a half, and never got a scratch on the screen(without a screen protector). I own a droid for a week(without a screen protector), and have three scratches. To me, that makes it seem like the droid is easy to scratch.

thenicole...have you seen the video of the guy taking a key to the screen of his droid? What the eff did you do to your screen to scratch it????

I honestly have no clue what I did to it to scratch it. I haven't dropped it, put it in a pocket with anything sharp, had a dog chew on it(this was a problem with a previous phone, when I had a new puppy)...

That's why I think that the Droid screen isn't all that scratch proof. I've been very careful with it since I got it, which is why I'm so irritated that it's scratched. Time will tell--I wouldn't be that surprised if other people start noticing scratches on their screen.
