Ok. some weird stuff happened today....

I work as a courier and when i unplugged my car charger and headphones from my phone to go into the merchant to drop off the package a song just randomly started playing on my phone but the odd thing was that no media player was playing. mediascape, mixzing or other was showing in the notification bar. and the mixzing widget was showing a different song and it was not playing. after about 1 min or so it stopped on it own lol

then 20 min later while calling my work and being on hold with them (background hold music playing) I heard "please wait while we try to connect your long distant call...." ... i looked at my phone and it was dialing someone from my contact list. so I hung up and kept on going with my original work call. odd again!?

then I went back to my car 5 min later and took my phone from my belt holder to put in my car windshield holder and it was in the middle of a 4 min call to that same contact again?! so i hung up. odd AGAIN!?

then down the road I drove and I turned the screen off then slid it back on again and then sound was muted. the little widget for sound on/off/vibrate was on off. i didnt press it! arrrrrrgghhhhhhh

so I turned the phone right off and then on. seems to be ok now..... for NOW

anyone else experience anything like this ever?

sound like a 2.1 glitch?

ok it happened again today. I was unplugging my headphones from my x10 and the same song started playing for a minute than stopped. i even played a song from the mixzing widget OVERTOP of the song in the background. the same song and same length of time. right in the middle of the song too. this is one weird glitch!!! like it doesnt even show a app is open thats playing the song.

I had a similar problem with music with 1.6 (see this post http://androidforums.com/sony-ericsson-xperia-x10/68848-weird-issue-mediascape-calls.html )
I think it's a bug to do with removing the headphones, I had it over the top of phone calls! I also had it when I stopped my music and then pulled out my headphones. I had to use a task killer to kill it but I just killed everything. I used taskkiller as it has a widget you can use to kill things in one touch.
I don't have the mic attachment plugged in just the headphones that might have caused some issues.
The only way it stopped was when I updated to 2.1 but I always fear it coming back, I don't know how to stop it from happening I'm afraid I just stopped answering calls when I was playing music.

As for the random phone calls I've never had that... yet!

OK.. its happening again...

I had a friend call and my ringtone changed from the usual bell ring to a song from my sd memory card. also my text message notification sound changed to a different song from my sd card. so thats weird. I went and changed them all back to the right setting and sounds. so that was fine for an hour or so and now I just plugged in my USB again and it started playing a random song from my sd. WTF????!?

this phone is starting to piss me off... wayy to many quirks lately with it

EDIT.. while I have you here Ill ask this too.
anyway to have a separate sound for handcent texts and general notification sound like pluggin in USB? doesnt seem like there is a way to make them different?

Get NetQin Mobile Guard and install it....check what apps are running when it happens and close them using the Mobile Guard....it's like a task manager.

SOiunds like you got a gremlin in the phone somewhere...probably some crappy app

I already have advanced task killer. stay with that or get netqin?

so your saying if it happens while the song is playing, open task killer and close apps one by one and see what stops playing the song? because it physically changes the sounds in the settings. like i go to handcent and settings - notification sound - it says 'pitbull - alright'. which is a song i have on my SD. the first time it switched it was AFI playing.

keep you posted if it happens again

Considering in order to set an MP3 as a ringtone you need to use MediaScape...I would personally remove MediaScape, then remove any other stuff it leaves behind on either the SD card or the phone itself.

Maybe remove the SD Card for a day and see if it happens....or reformat the SD card.

If it does stuff like this daily, I personally would sync all my stuff...download and install AppBrain...sync applications....reinstall OS on the phone...wipe the SD card clean, then sync up contacts and whatnot...install AppBrain and resync applications.

Remove the application that keeps ghost-opening and delete the crap it leaves behind and if you really want, install it again.

Are you sure the platinum chip you are carrying isn't messing up with your phone?

ok.. last night was weird! for no reason my sms tone went to something completely different on its own... then at 6am this morning a song started playing that I downloaded from G-tunes and was in my media folder. It wasnt an alarm or anything. it just started playing! to turn off the song i had to power off haha. because no apps or anything was playing the song. so I went back to sleep with phone off then i wake up at 10 and the phone is ON again!? WTF!

is it time to clean it all off and start from a fresh template you think??
