Weird problem with my droid pro:
-I have my phone set up with my gmail account and everything (gmail, gvoice, greader, etc.) syncs and acts normally. However, my calendar syncs with my google calendar, but will not allow me to add events. When I click the + button in the top right of the screen, it closes the calendar and returns me to my home screen. There is no error message, it just returns to my home screen. I have rooted my phone and screwed around with a lot of apps, but I haven't touched the calendar app at all. I've gone into my applications settings and cleared the data for the calendar app and restarted my phone, no change in behavior. I also do not see any of my "other calendars", i.e. google calendars added from external urls, after syncing, not sure if that's relevant. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

When I got my Droid Pro, the Verizon person set up my gmail account, but the phone would not let me use the calendar because it said I needed to set up a calendar account. In My Accounts, my Gmail account only had the option to sync email and contacts, but not calendar. Check in My Accounts > Gmail to see if Sync Calendar is an option for you. If not, there's your problem. I noticed this the day after I got my phone, so I did a factory reset and it worked. The Sync Calendar option appeared and it now works fine. I had never used my Google Calendar before, so I have no idea if it would have synced with an online one even without technically having that option.

Hope this helps!

I looked in my settings and calendar sync on my gmail account was already enabled. I have been poking around and found this site: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google Mobile/thread?tid=64aea77f993dce05&hl=en
that has been ongoing since 2009 that might be describing the same thing as me. Seems a little odd that android would be having any trouble at all syncing and adding events to a google calendar after all the time that android has had to mature.

i have exactly that issue on my scroll tablet (search engine on this site came up with your post) i am not always connected to wifi, and today for example got invite to something, took out tablet and then looked like a complete idiot as could not add the invite details to the calendar, surely there is an "offline" version that then syncs when you are next connected - i know this post is old, but the problem still remains
