Help Sync with Gmail contacts make pictures pixelated

When I put a high quality picture for a contact on my phone and then sync it to gmail contacts it goes pixelated. So I tried putting the high quality picture into Gmail and syncing it to the phone. It still comes out pixelated.

Anyone know of a fix for this other then the obvious (not synching contacts to gmail).

This is a known issue with no current fix. Honestly, it's the most amateurish aspect of android. Having blurry, pixelated garbage appear on a beautiful 4.3" screen is a travesty, and has no place in this century.

I followed the steps outlined in the the link below and it fixed the pixelated contact picture issue for me on my EVO. This is only a workaround and not a fix for the issue.
