Went from Incredible to iPhone and back to Incredible

The iPhone is so locked down it is worthless in features compared to the Incredible. I suppose you could jailbreak it. The maps on iPhone is horrible compared to Maps on Android. You can't even change the email notification sounds how *%&^&$&$ stupid is that seriously!

Anyway back to the incredible and loving it again. Holding out for Incredible 2 now :D

Simply jailbreak the iPhone and problem is solved. I own both and each has it's pros and cons. Incredible has a major con but I deal with it. It is the "Low Memory Alert" that is one annoying con. I don't see the iPhone have that issue. How about we all just admit we like tech no matter who makes it and not simply become Brand fanboys.

the thing is I shouldn't have to jailbreak my phone in order to use common sense features

like not being able to change email notification WTF is that all about

change mass delete emails you have to do it one at a time. Very convenient when you receive a hundred or more a day

where is the option to have safari stop browsing on just mobile versions of a site

It makes ZERO sense that apple wouldn't have put those options on especially after having the iphone out for so long

Two things apple does better than most and that is the iPod and iBooks other than that Nothing

I just had to call VZW about my bill and they are pushing the iPhone HARD! When I called I got greeted by a prerecorded message saying "you have 2 upgrades available on your account, the iPhone is now here...press 1 to hear more about this.." then while I was talking to the nice CS lady from India, at the end of the call she said "I noticed Mr.XXXXX you have 2 upgrades available, can I interest you in upgrading to the iPhone at this time?" I laughed a little bit then said "an iPhone wouldn't be an upgrade from my Incredible and I'd rather have a new phone if I upgrade, not a year old one" She didn't say anything for like 15 seconds then asked me if I received all my answers and thanked me for calling. I think it's hilarious that VZW is shoving this down our throats.

One thing that the iPhone has is proxies for Wifi. My school requires me to enter a URL for a proxy and I can't do that on my Incredible.

This is exactly the spiel one of my exes got when she was cancelling AT&T and switching to Verizon. "You say you're looking for a smartphone, we have the iPhone you know" "Yeah, I know, and I have no interest in that. My last payments in the mail. I'm getting an android." The CS rep was stunned...

I really should have sold her on not getting the Eris though....

There are some things IOS does better then Android, and some things Android does better then IOS. This is pointless, much like XBOX 360 vs PS3. Options and choices are a good thing.

You are 100% correct!

Just like when everyone was comparing the Incredible to Droid X, Droid 2, Fascinate, etc...It comes down to making choices on what makes "you" happy and what user experience "you" are looking for!

At first I wanted to get the iPhone just due to the fact that it wasn't available in my region for nearly 4 years... but after owning my Incredible, I can't live without the widgets, they're crucial. It's nice to see a list of messages that I've sent or a list of emails that I can pull up at any time. There are some slight things I'd change about my phone (mainly music app and camera performance) but I'm happy.

I also waited for the iPhone for 4 years and finally received it on on 2/9. I activated it that night and went back to my Incredible in the morning. I packaged it up, got ready to send it back when a co-worker of mine, who also received his iPhone on the 9th and was coming from an Eris, convinced me to give it another chance. So I reactivated the iPhone Monday 2/14 and told myself to give it a few days. Well yesterday and I packaged the iPhone up again and this time sent it on its way. The Incredible is just an "Incredible" phone!!
