Root Insane battery life with Apex 1.4

When I take my phone (with extended battery) off the charger before bed and check it in the morning (8 hours later) and it's 90%, that's good. I think I've even seen 100% before, but that's been awhile.

Apex 1.3.1, Liberty 1.5 with battery patch and Focused all give me the 90% in the morning on most days.

I have had the best luck with Apex 1.4. 1.31 did well also, but I was on Liberty 1.5 so long I forgot what good battery life was like. Even with the patch, my battery was taking a hard hit. 12 hours and my battery would be 50% or less and usually nearing 30% by the time I put it back on the charger at night.

I am running the extended battery as well and couldn't stand it that my battery was draining down so fast. That is why I got the extended battery to begin with, to have longer life.

I can't believe I handed my wife my phone to read a funny email and she actually handed it back to me without running the battery down first. :D

80% after 17 hours is about what I get with an extended battery with a rom that doesn't abuse my battery and light use. (8 hours overnight + 8 hours at work.)

Ok you guys have convinced to give apex another try, longer than a couple hours.downloading thebes and gonna see what kind of battery life I can get

I think you will be impressed with battery life, especially if you are coming from any of the Liberty ROMs.

Changed that last line there...meant ROM's, not theme.

I am running Liberty 1.5 and I must say the battery life is pretty bad, I figured I could deal with it but if I don't have access to a charger mid day, my phone would probably be blinking red by 6 or so. I do like the themes and toolbox Liberty has to offer, I only tried ApeX for a few hours so I don't think I really got to know much of it, maybe I will go back and try it out sometime soon. I finally got my theme the way I want it so I am just going to enjoy that till I get bored, or until battery life just gets annoying

I hope you guys aren't assuming I have Apex 1.4 installed. I'm running Focused right now and battery life is comparable to my previous installs of Apex 1.3.1 and Liberty 1.5 w/ battery patch. Sorry, I'm slow to install Apex 1.4. Focused is too fast and running too good right now. :D

Hmmm I wonder if I should try Focused. My battery life is better with ApeX but not awesome.

Is there anything special you guys did when you went from Liberty 1.5? I installed apex over Liberty (formatted, etc) and my battery life is still the same as it was on Liberty. Within 2 hours of having my phone off the charge, my battery is easily down to 70% without using it.

I thought about doing an SBF and then installing Apex but not sure if it will help.

I also notice Apex 1.4 seems slow and sluggish compared to 1.3.1 Maybe that has something to do with it.

Ideally (esp with the extended battery), with your battery at 100% and still plugged into the charger, you'd clear the battery stats (under advanced in recovery), boot into android, unplug the charger, run the battery dead, charge it back up and then check your battery life.

What this does is let your phone determine how big the battery is and how long it lasts.
