Root Cant disable google voice!! (rooted)

You have to go to Google voice on your computer, then go to settings. You'll have an option to deactivate Google voice voicemail for your phone, which will guide you through it. When you originally set it up, you must have set up a conditional call forward by dialing *28 + plus your google voice number. This stays active between ROMs. The short version is that you must dial *38 to turn it off. You should go to google voice settings, anyway, though, so that google voice doesn't still think you have it set up.

its been a while since I had this problem but it can be fixed two ways...one is to disable the forwarding from sprint...you do that by dialing *38 i believe, should get 3 beeps if thats the correct number and then it will stop going to gv. you could also just go to gv website, login, go to settings, and find the deactivate button, its there, just hard to find. I apologize if it isnt *38 for sprint, its been awhile, every carrier has a different number. might try *32 if *38 doesnt work...

Glad that worked for you :). evomattnc, there are a few places where you might need to turn off voicemail alerts via text messages. Open GV on the phone, then menu-settings. If notifications via text message is checked, uncheck it. You also might need to go to GV on your computer, go to settings, then the voicemail and text tab. There is an option to send voicemail notifications via text in there, as well.
