who hasnt gotten the OTA update?

I'm in Central Cali and got the update late last night around 11PM.. Strange thing is both my sister and mom have the same phone, and neither of them had the update! I've tried updating one phone with the "Update Android" option in Settings but it said the system was already up to date even if it was 2.1 so I'm not sure if it's updating based on location, we live in the same house! :/

Went there this morning and under model code there are 4 options. ZKXSPR, ZKASPR (listed twice for some reason) and ZKOSPR.

So my question was how do I know which is the correct one for my phone? All of those are listed as options for the Epic 4G model SPH-D700.

All I can tell you is I followed the link, selected "Software" and downloaded and installed using the Mac update.zip

Worked great.

Someone else maybe able to clarify the model question

I'm on PC so I suppose I will have to hope someone will help me out on that one. Thanks!

My wife hadn't gotten the update (Wisconsin) by last night so she had me update it manually. I save her contacts into gmail and everything went fine.

I'm in Wisconsin as well and still no OTA update for me either....

Options for manually updating:

1. Update.zip: Don't need to worry about phone code or whatever...you're already on the right page as long as you follow that link above, just select the "Software" link as by defalut, you're on the "Manuals" page. Yes, it states it's for a Mac, but Mac's don't allow .exe files so they had to zip it up. Download the update.zip file, save it to your SD card on your Samsung Epic phone (I don't think I should have to get this detailed, but with some of the responses on other threads...) Don't put it in a folder, right on the drive itself. No folder. None. I did this last night and it took a total of probably 15-20 minutes after backing up everything. This method DOES NOT wipe the phone. Repeat, does not. I backed things up as a precaution.

2. Samsung .exe installer: With the first version not wiping your phone, why would you even choose this option? If you want to wipe your phone (I'm still pondering it) then choose this method and you'll have nothing left over from before.

And if you're not willing to do this yourself...please, for the love of everything holy, stop whining about not getting the OTA update.

Internet for the win :(

I really didn't see a ton of people whining. The topic was "who hasn't gotten the OTA update?". Most of us have just answered where we are at, thus answering the topic at hand. How is answering a thread honestly "whining"?

And for the record, most users simply don't feel comfortable doing these kinds of things by themselves. We can't all be super-users. Ironically though, I definitely am a super-user and still lack the motivation to want to do this myself... nor am I "whining" about the OTA not hitting my city yet. I mean hell, I got this phone like the week it came out and have wanted 2.2 - I think I can wait a couple more days for an update :p

Went to get update.zip and I think it is gone. Found this on Sprint website:

UPDATE:
There have been an increased number of calls into Care regarding issues with the Epic following the upgrade. As a result, the upgrade will not be pushed to more devices until a resolution for these issues is in place. The OTW update on the Samsung website will also be taken down.
Sprint and Samsung are actively working to correct these problems and release the update to all devices. I will provide updates as I receive them.

Really? I just grabbed it from the site now...but can't do anything with it until I get home from work.
