Notification volume work around

notification volume is tied to media volume, not notification volume. the temp work around I have is (using Quick Settings) check the box that links Ringer volume for notifications. This is a work around provided you are using ringer volume on max.

I cross posted this on xda with links to htc forums and a facebook thread. I encourage others to find ways to let htc know.

i'm still a bit mixed on the notification level... I liked how loud the sidekick was, I knew from across the room that I had a msg... but it also was a bit obnoxious... so...

we'll try this work around
thanks :)

yes but you also have an LED light on the inspire so if you dont here it you see it so in the end how can you miss a notification?

Could you provide more detailed instructions? I can't find that check box. I'm always missing my text messages. I hear the ringer just fine.

I hope i am correct in what I've said and that at least one other person can confirm.

On quick settings app, click on the volume control toggle. There should be a check box to link notification volume to ringer volume.

Update: i think you can link the 2 volumes through the regular settings. Click on the volume setting.

Mine seems too loud..im always trying to turn the fricken thing off (its embarrasing) but it always comes back if i turn the volume back up.

I found it funny that people were complaining it was too low..

I look at my phone often enough that i RARELY miss a message....i dont need my phone beeping at me. Coming from an iphone..im preconditioned to just check it regularly...

the LED does no good if the phone is facing down (where I tend to keep it for fear that something is going to be dropped/fall on my purdy screen)...

the motorola had an LED around the USB port... but I do prefer the smaller discreet LED of the inspire

but yes I changed settings and still doesn't seem to help :-/...

Found it. Menu -> Sound -> Volume drop down.

There are sliders for all volume controls. My notifications volume was set to 75% while all others were set to 100%. I just moved Notifications to 100% also. I'll see how that works. Thanks.

Did you try zedge?
The fact is I shouldnt have to for the money this phone cost. Through the years I have collected many ring tones and I should be able to use them. When I had the BB 9700 it worked flawles. Sure it didn't have the bells and whistles but it never faild me or let me down. Sorry to rant just disappointed in my Android experiences so far with both the Atrix and Inspire. The problem I had with the Atrix was the led notifications could not be set for specific things now the sound issue on the Inspire. UGH!
Sorry I am so picky just have high expectations.
