I have kind of a beginner or "noob" question. I understand what a rom is, I kind of understand what a kernel is, but what is a modem and isn't that basically the only thing changed in serendipity 6 versus 5.12? I'm just asking because supposedly some of the add ons for serendipity aren't working correctly so I might wait until things start to get a bit more compatible. Could someone explain what all three are so I can decide if it is worth flashing version 6 and holding out on the add ons for a bit, or if I should stay on 5.12 for now.
He already is working on that and has found the problem. He will probably have the update out soon, hopefully today. Until I'll just be using opera as my default browser.I just flashed 6.0 about an hour ago. Havent played with it much. Im not getting a forced close from clicking links in emails. So far, Im liking it.
I thought I also read that the FC's were only happening on links ending with the "s" (https vice http).
I'm on 6.1 right now, but haven't tried it yet. I used Dolphin HD browser.....let me check if it works.
Also, yes, the add-on kitchen works just fine. I've already flashed some add ons onto 6.1 with zero problems.
I did notice, though, that being back on Speedmod's k13c kernel as brought back the annoying "Time without signal" issue. I was able to get rid of that while on 5.12 by using Paragon's kernel.....wonder if Paragon's kernel will work with 6.1???

There is a minor update this morning for Serendipity - 6.0 to 6.1. It fixes an issue with the Swype keyboard. I don't use Swype.

Yeah.. I'm pretty pissed I get on my Cappy this morning and Swype says the trial license was expired. Very poor development.
Think I might go back to Cog or Andromeda after this.
both of them will have the same problems. its not the rom, its where the devs get the keyboard so its from swype
I haven't seen anyone complain about Swype with the other ROMs.
Look on the XDA forums, it's happening on a bunch of ROM'S. I'm on Paragon and it happened to me also. I had to remove swype and install the newest beta from the swype website.
