App for blocking outgoing calls/Text Number

What is the best app if their are any for blocking calls from My Desire. Also can they same app allow me to text someone without them see what number it came from?

That's a pretty tall order, ranman. ;)

I'd think that two apps might handle that, but a search in Market under "call blocking" or some such terms might be enlightening.

For what it's worth, depending on your carrier, you may be able to configure call number blocking in your personal account page there, as with Verizon, etc.

Perhaps others will chime in about the apps.

...and why would you want to send a text to someone without them knowing where it came from

as a certain Mod (who shall remain nameless, Frisco) once told me:

ours is not to reason why. do or do not, there is no try. to be or not to be. i have a dream. etc etc.

so maybe the OP has employees or colleagues or clients that they need to call whilst on the road and the OP does not want any of these contacts to call them back on their private mobile number.

i find that it's best not to question other peoples motives. you either help or you don't.

Spammers love those features. :D

But, as E.G. points out, there are several legitimate reasons for wanting anonymity when texting/calling, one important reason being a conduit of information to employees or clients, yet not wanting return queries directed at anybody other than a proper support or human resources number, etc.

Many scenarios. ;)

and to annoy friends ;)

I do know over here in the 'core blimey guv'nor' land of britain we can just put a certain dial code infront of a number or select actually on the device to hide phone numbers...and im guessing its possible to also contact network provider and ask them as well...but I know that doesnt unfortunately work for text messaging..

Not spamming or looking for a rise, but I genuinely couldn't think of a reason why you'd want to send a text and hide the originator.
Without wishing to state the bloomin obvious but I'd hate to receive texts with no way of knowing where the content came from. Like spam mail. Proper annoying when you can't unsubscribe but have to set up a filter instead.
Stalking is also quite high profile in the news in the UK at the moment. Not suggesting for a moment that you are or anything like that but surely an app like that would potentially be open to abuse.....
