Help Help me get it straight, true or false?

Ok, I want to make sure I have all this straight, so bear with a newbie!

1--It's best to turn on wifi when possible (I have been doing so at home/work) and doing so, it turns off 3g/4g. T/F?

2--The widget/shortcut for Mobile--that turns off all data? But I can still text/receive phone calls, but no pushes (which I have turned off anyway, I'm not that important, lol) T/F

3--The widget/app phone info--that can turn off 4g only? I don't know what all the options under that mean, based on this forum, I have been doing CDMA auto (PRL) T/F

4-GPS-does NOT drain power unless I am using something that needs it?

Are those the main areas to know about as far as turning off internet/data, to conserve battery?

4.No idea but I would turn off everything but google location unless tou have to have it on

Actually, having WiFi on drains the battery more since the phone will still have a cell signal open for incoming text and phone calls. Turning WiFi on turns on an extra device that uses battery. It's like trying to turn on bluetooth headphones thinking that you'll save the battery by not using the built in speaker.

My impression with gps is that it won't actually turn on (while toggled on ) when you aren't using an app that doesn't utilize it such as google maps. You'll notice when maps is open, there is another gps indicator that looks like a satellite dish notifying you that gps is actually being used.

No you save battery life when you have wifi on. It disables the 4g/3g radios.

Having GPS Switched "ON" doesn't turn the GPS receiver ON per se. It just makes it available for APPs to use if they request it.

I always leave my GPS switched "ON" (Available) and it doesn't affect the battery. I know when my GPS is being used due to the blinking GPS Satellite icon in the notification area.

Thanks for that clarification! So I could keep the VZW location service on and not see battery life any worse?
