regret getting nexus one?

There is always something newer, cooler, and faster on the horizon. If you always wait for that device you will never enjoy what you could have now.

Well said. I pride myself on the ability to get awesome gadgets my friends no nothing about, but that has lead me to have the same phone for 4 years because there's always something better rumoured to be "coming soon" (and for the record, it's never soon, that's such a lie!). Have finally given myself a lil slap and jumped on the android bandwagon. Phone should be here Friday or Monday, and I think I've made the right decision. Maybe. ;)

edit: also, if you watch the trailer for the X10, that thing is as big as my head, I swear. Huuuuuuuge. Not so good for delicate coding fingers like mine :D

To the OP. Why ask? Do you?

I love my N1. Best phone I've ever had after owning G1, 3GS and Hero.

X10 to me doesn't look all that great. Laggy interface and a bit fussy looking. Possibility of it coming out on 1.5 so already behind the times and some apps won't work. Also a but like Sense, you may or may not have to wait ages for any update.

EDIT: www.stuff.tv

X10 going to be available for

I think the x10 looks better but Sony Ericsson's reputation of almost never updating their firmware is a big no :). You don't want to be stuck with 1.6 for months now would you?
HTC is the way to go if you want the latest updates within a reasonable amount of time (and don't forget the huge community for HTC devices, wich other manufactures don't have)

OK, so i was a iPhone fanboy since day one and decided to try the N1 and if i didnt like it sell it on ebay. First day it came in i played with it for an hour and put it back in the box and listed it on ebay. The next day at work i opened it up to show a co worker the differences between the iPhone and N1 and played a little bit longer......needless to say my iPhone ends on ebay tomorrow....i love the N1. it is very customizable, unlike the iPhone and the android store has plenty of good apps for me and grows everyday.

Sure there are things the other phones do better, like i wish you could push the trackball to wake it up instead of the power toggle, and i wish it had a better media player so it would be easier to play songs on my bluetooth cd player in my truck but it is just damn fun to play with. the dolphin browser is great and as long as we continue to grow support in the android store i will be an Android user for quite some time

If anyone knows any apps to solve the two issues i listed above let me know by pm i am brand new to android os so still learning.

I regret it but mostly because of T-Mobile's coverage. I've gone back to Verizon and the Droid for the time being and I'm not sure if I'll even bother with it again when it actually does come to Verizon. The gripes I hav with the phone itself can be fixed depending on how Google patches it. Guess we'll see...

Still happy here and coming from a Iphone 3G (My 3g is now a slightly used Ipod Touch; still syncs, still plays my movies and pandora over wifi....so not a total loss even.

So far I haven't found any app that I relied on that wasn't available on android. Honeslty most of my apps were the jailbroken ones like Cydia, GV and themes.

The only questionable item is Tmobile; I had them before I had my 3g for almost 5 years with few dropped calls; but I also wasn't relying on my phones 3g capabilities then so it's still early for me to say.

has there been any recent news on the x10 as far as specs and/or release date for the US? if its still months away (april?), i find it VERY hard to believe it'll ship with 1.5.

As far as I know it'll come with 1.6 because it supports Google Goggles which isn't working with 1.5. I've had a chance to play with it and apart from some software bugs its shaping up to be a very good Android phone!

I'm hoping Sony Ericsson upgrade it to 2.1 though since the camera is very good and would certainly be up there with the Nexus One! Well I think it would be but I haven't used the Nexus One yet so I couldn't say 100% yet.

First off, I will say that I love my N1. I wouldn't give it up at all!

To the guy I quoted, from what I understand, waking the phone with the trackball will be possible eventually, but it is either going to have to be an update to 2.1 from Google or a program you install in tanden with rooting the phone, and that community is just starting to rev up for the N1. Unfortunately I don't know what to tell you as far as a better media player. What surprises me, is that Amazon doesn't develop an iTunes like interface, with an accompanying media player on Android. No one LOVES iTunes. They just love the ease of use. It is a place to go and find all the songs and movies you want, and organize them, without dealing with the web and ads and all that garbage. If Amazon converted their digital catalogs into an .exe file you install which could then sync with Android with an Amazon media payer downloaded from the market, they could set themselves up to be to Android what iTunes is to the iPhone/iTouch. Cornering the digital media market would eventually pay huge dividends for them if they were the defacto media player/outlet for all Android equipment! Maybe I am just too progressive for Amazon though. If I was them though, I'd have a team of 5-10 engineers/programmers cranking this thing out, and setting myself up at the must have media program/store for the Android when it comes to music/movies. I mean Amazon usually has better prices than iTunes, and their shit has been DRM-free for a lot longer!

Edit: Am I the only one that thinks the X10 looks ugly? I don't know what it is, but the first time I saw it, I lost all interest in it. To the N1's credit, pictures dont do it justic either. In pictures, the N1 looks very plastic-like, but when you get it and hold it, it is very solid and sleek.
