Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 Cases

Hi guys

Anyone seen any Samsung Galaxy S II Cases as yet. Found this website
Guide to the best Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 Cases was think of getting the Noreve Case, Never used on before

Noreve cases are of excellent quality. I have had several, the last being for my Galaxy S.

If you go direct to Noreve you will be able to pick from various colours and choices of leather. However, at present Noreve are not showing any cases for the Galaxy SII
See here for a list

I like those clear gel cases with the diamond pattern. I've never used one personally but they look so squishy and fun in the youtube vids. I've never liked any of the hardcases I've bought before, nor the rubbery silicon ones since they make my fingers itchy.

OMG squishy! And it's clear so it don't look bulky!

Yeah the rubbery silicone cases are also hard to get out of your pocket. The smooth bendy plastic ones are the go (like the one in the video).

lol, the Noreve case on the site has the camera hole in the wrong spot..

hehe..
Yes... I noticed that too.
It's just a typical case (pun not intended) of a company with very little information jumping on the sellers bandwagon with anything they can grab just to gain our attention.

Personally when I see things like this and the fact that Noreve have not even put the case to the designers yet (I called them) it puts the warning sign firmly in place.

Here's a TPU case for the SGS2. Looks interesting, if you want to turn the SGS2 into the cow-ish stylings of some of HTCs phones. Seems they photoshopped the front really bad. Comes with a plastic stand/clip. Dunno if it's removable, but looks permanently built in.

Black TPU case with stand F Samsung Galaxy S II i9100 | eBay
I have the larger version of this on my Galaxy Tab.
Had it now for a good few months and it is very good.

I was a little concerned at first with the stand at the back. Being made of plastic I had visions it would snap off but no, it's held the Tab in Landscape mode very well.
Also, the edges are made of rubber with a textured surface, this makes holding the Tab feel very stable in the hand.

If this case for the SGSII is anything like the one for the Tab I won't hesitate in getting one of these for the SGSII.

I'm assuming Incipio and Seidio will make a case, and they both have outstanding products. Got Incipio on the iPhone and iPad (Feather models on both) and Seido (Innocase II) on the Captivate.

I also had an Incipio Feather on the Atrix while I had it.

The "soft touch" from both manufacturers provides grip but not like silicone where it's tacky/sticky, and the Feather is like 1-2mm thick, so it adds almost no bulk. The Innocase has more protection and the sacrifice of some size (Incipio also makes some beefier options for the iStuff, so maybe the SGS II as well).

*Hopefully* they'll all share a common form factor (even if the radios, OS are different) so there will be easier 3rd party development.

Can you remove the stand? Is the stand sharp plastic that might cut you when handling the phone? Does the TPU material feel like the itchy/dirty silicone, or better?

Can you remove the stand?
Ans. No It is fixed and part of the case

Is the stand sharp plastic that might cut you when handling the phone?
Ans. Apart from the hinge the rest of the plastic stand when shut lays flat and smooth.
The hinge however does have a slight lip. It is not sharp but tends to sometimes let you know it is there if you move your hand across it.
On the Tab it is not an issue because you don't hold the phone in the palm of your hand.
Thinking about it now it may be the one issue this case has... Needs more thought sorry.

Does the TPU material feel like the itchy/dirty silicone, or better?
Ans. It is certainly not itchy. It's surface is not shinny nor smooth.
It is more like a very soft pliable silicone that has a surface akin to leather.
It is not the sticky type of silicone rubber that leaves a residue in your hand.
It is a very good silicone. It takes knocks very well, cushioning the edges nicely. It feels good in the hand (the Tab has a very slippery surface, this stand lets you hold the Tab without fear you will drop it).

Conclusion:
As said, I really admire the case I have on my Tab. It was cheap but has become the Tab's permanent case.
This advertised case for the SGSII looks extremely similar and I would have no hesitation in getting one of these even if out of curiosity just to see if it were of the same as found on the Tab.
My only concern now would be as the SGSII is a lot smaller than the Tab, you would tend to hold the SGSII flat in the palm of your hand.... I hope the stand's hinge at the back does not protrude and get in the way.

Thanks. They should probably make one without the stand. Would have limited use on a phone this size.
Agree.... I'm not too fussed in having a stand for the SGSII.
The only time I can see a use for it is if you use the phone as an Alarm Clock that displays the time at night or for watching videos either taken with the glorious camera or transferred to the phone.

Have to say I am keen to sample as many a case I can obtain... Just like I did for the SGS and the Tab.

ive always liked the flip case. if you happen to drop/bump it its always got a little bit of protection there. the pouches are good but the only time your are gonna have an accident is when your holding it, not when its smug in there doing nothing.

The case with the stand is a good idea, but would just piss you off after while. i have no doubt it would just swing about over time....then the sticky tape comes out...etc...

for those who want BLING i found this site when looking for something to make the PS3 look at bit different. = DECALS(FAQ)
They alledge it will protect against minor scratches etc too, but i'd rather go for a case.

A tip from the GS2 Manual:
"Do not use carrying cases or accessories with magnetic closures..<and don't keep it in a magnetic field for a long time>"

edit-Also just found:
"Do not carry your device in your back pockets or around your waist"

And basically everything else near this tells you not to do anything with the device at all and take frequent breaks from it, lol.
