I am running the zenherofx 2.1 lite rom and sometimes when i receive calls the com.android.phone crashes. I am using autokiller to handle the memory. I thought that it was that but lowered the presets down from ultimate to extreme. Does anyone know what the problem could be. I just did a full wipe from my sd ext and phone and a fresh flash of the kernel and rom. Thanks in advance.

Is there a reason you like the rom your on at all? I would suggest flashing a newer rom that is still being actively developed. Zen is quite old. If its what you like that's cool. I would suggest rebooting to recovery and wipe cache and davlik cache. But I would flash this http://androidforums.com/sprint-her...od-aosp-2-3-3-cm7-gingerbread-04-21-11-a.html

Its by far the fastest rom to date for me and many others. Its stable for most people , except the GPS which resets after 30 minutes for some. Other than that its killer. You should at least try it out and see if you like it.

Another big surprise. Whenever, I see people having these issues, they're using an auto killer or task killer.

Here is a hint. Stop using those things unless you really know what you are doing. In 99% of cases you really do not need either. Some claim to get better battery life and speed using them, but honestly, Android manages all of that just dandy by itself since Android 2.1. If you were running Android 1.5 or Android 1.6, I might say go ahead. Just a word to the wise.

Thank you. I will try modifying autokiller to be at system default. Also i want to try this rom since its the best out now for the hero.
Thanks again for you help.

I would suggest deleting the auto killer app. I like both AOSP Android 2.3 and CynanogenMod 7.0.3.

They are both snappy and good on battery. Enjoy your new ROM.

Just a thought...can the calls when it "crashes" or force closes be traced to a specific caller, or specific ringtone?

LBP - I am of the opostite school of thought -
I am MUCH better off with auto killer set to optimum and using ATK once a day or so.

No Other issues like described above. just crazy hot sexy speed.

I know ...I know....I know....it just works for me....

Yeah, that is why I said "unless you really know what you are doing" and I know that you do, MahaloCat. For the average user, I still advise against it though.

I get awesome performance and efficiency without the need of those particular apps. I have tested with and without, and without always triumphed for me.
