I just posted that link in another thread actually lol. Let's hope this is what's going to be announced in 9 days. I hope we get a glimpse of what they look like to. I know it'll be a month or two before they actually hit stores to but I hope we get a picture when they confirm it. The US actually got it earlier this year. Last year it was in August. I hope they all come 4G ready for all carriers. I have a feeling Sprints version will lose the keyboard but that's fine. It works so well and has a big screen so. As long as it's still 4G.
God darn I was dead set on the SGS2, but then the HTC Holiday leaks out on the weekend and I'm like OMG 4.5" qHD!!! Samsung better release it fast before I start to lose interest. Hell I'm tempted to just get the Infuse because it's actually available.
i don't know. would be pretty screwed up if there was HSPA+ for AT$T and WiMax for Sprint but no LTE for Verizon version. don't think they would do that though, would they? iunno.
still dropping Sprint for an unlocked HSPA+ one with AT$T though. i like that Sprint has unlimited data and their plans are cheaper, but that doesn't outweigh the fact that i get horrible service in my home area on CDMA networks. GSM rules my area and is the reason i'm switching. plus, i never go anywhere near 2gb a mon for data lol
i'll take paying an extra ~$30/mon for good service in my area any day.
Nobody bought the captivate which is why they most likely changed the name but attain idk I just left AT&T I was playing with the infuse it's aight but not good enough for me to blow my upgrade I'm gonna wait for the sgII
These names could be code names and not actual phone names. they do sound funny and a little dramatic but i would assume they would go with the name the original ones had and add a 2 at the end. well, add this along with my ns4g
The Samsung galaxy s2 getting us carrier names is exciting and all but I don't think any of the carriers will get the phone til the holidays..that's a long wait...
This is the only phone that is coming out in the near future that interests me. hopefully the verizon version doesnt have a slide out keyboard. and hopefully it comes out as early as mid july. that would be perfect.
I wish we had some sort of idea of what "window" this phone was coming to Verizon and Sprint. Fall? Winter? July? August? September? November? They could have just added "Coming 'soon'" or "Coming this Fall or Winter".

It's funny how low key the new SGSII US names are compared to the SGSI names.
For AT&T, the phone went from Captivating to merely Attainable.
For Verizon, it went from a Facinating phone to one that's just Functional.
For Sprint, it was unbashfully deemed Epic, now it's just something you keep Within yourself.

Frankly once you get it, you're not going to give a flip about what name they've assigned to it.
As far as names are concerned, there is no specific way they choose them other than the fact that so many names have already been taken it's getting hard for them to get one they can patent, so no one else will use it. That's one of the most frequent deciding factors.
I couldn't wait, so I bought one from a good friend who is a distributor in Hong Kong, it's unlocked and unbranded with no carrier logo.
This SGS II is the very best smartphone I've had ... period. It's shocking just how good it is at absolutely everything. And believe me, with all the phones I've had I'm pretty picky.
No matter what the wait, you will be so glad you did. It's my understanding from a very reliable source that AT&T will get theirs first, and soon.
i feel bad that tmobile is not getting the SG2 because of this painful merger between att and tmobile. I don't like it but customers have no say in what the deals the carriers make with the phone makers. I hope tmobile gets a modified version of SG2 to please its customers otherwise, more will flee to Sprint or VZW. As far i am concerned, i will stick with my blackberry and get the playbook tablet until i see a phone better or as good as the SG2 coming to tmobile. I am not interested in the HTC sensation or the G2X and i don't need a 4.5" phone either. So i will patiently wait and save my upgrade for now.
This x1000. Who gives a crap what it's called. Give me my Verizon Samsung Function tomorrow with the same specs as the int'l S2, and I won't complain a lick about the name.
