I'm thinking of getting this phone..

Since owning a Desire Z I've grown to love HTC + Android combined. I'm thinking of buying the Incredible S but have some concerns:

* Note: I don't care about the phone only having a 1GHz processor.. I had the Atrix for a week and returned it

- Are there any common issues with the phone that people experience?
- Is the phone fast? Do you ever experience lag?
- Does the phone hold a WiFi signal good, or does it constantly re-connect?
- Are there any SMS bugs?
- How is the web browsing? Do you find it loads/renders pages quickly, and is the scrolling smooth?
- Does the phone have an LED notification light?

Thanks.

The phone is very fast and slick. I've never experienced any lag or sluggishness. WiFi is also very good. Web browsing is a joy to use and the page-rendering is fine. There is an LED light which is embedded behind the grille of the ear-piece. The LED notifications can be customised for SMS, Email, etc.

Email: works well. But I came from BlackBerry and they are unsurpassed when it comes to email.

Personally speaking I find that the volume in the ear-piece is quite loud during calls.

File Explorer: there is no native file explorer which I found really disappointing. I also get a little annoyed when people say "ah, you can download one from the Android Marketplace". Really? When was the last time you bought a car and it didn't come with a steering wheel? But don't worry you can go to an auto-shop and buy one. Ridiculous. This is a basic thing that should be included.

Overall, I'm very happy with my (first HTC/Android) phone.

Like Chiswick, I came from Blackberry and up till now, I still cannot find anything that is as quick as the Blackberry in terms of email...however, if you are looking to make a switch to Android, the Incredible S is just awesome awesome awesome...I probably sound like a broken recorder but stay away from a samsung android phone..IT SUCKS BIG TIME!! Perhaps the Galaxy S II can be different but that's gonna take a whole lot of convincing...by the time it arrives here in Singapore, HTC may have something similar thrashing the S II's ass...
