Best night-time silencer?

I found literally dozens of apps aimed at quieting this Dinc at night, but none so far provide what I need and it's tiresome working through them one by one. WANTED:

Shutdown at a designated time, awaken at a designated time, every day.
Complete silence: no pings, gleeps, rings, etc. of any kind during the specified "Silent Time."
Automatic.
Stable.

Surely there's something better than manually shutting down each night.

But what?

I use Sound Manager... You could have it turn down every volume on the phone at a specific time, then return them to your favorite volume in the morning. I use this to turn down Notification sounds (texts, emails), but leave the ringer volume at normal so that I can still get a emergency call if needed.

I've tried Timeriffic and Llama and have had slight problems with both of them. At night I tried to have them only notify me for phone calls and nothing else. I have to do this since I'm a manager at work and if the alarm goes off the alarm company might need to call me. Only problem is when I tried this with both of them my phone would still vibrate when I got a txt message. I had them both set upto not notify me for txt messages. Also I use Volume Locker and Timeriffic would would fine with that...Llama on the other hand would change the ringer and Volume Locker would change it right back again. Wish I could find something that worked the way I'd like it to.....only ring for phone calls at a set time...no vibrate for phone calls and nothing for txt messages.

Just tried Sound Manager.....it doesn't play nice with Volume Locker....when it changes the setting Volume Locker will change it back. The only one that seems to play nice with Volume Locker is Timeriffic.....but when using that it still vibrates when I get txt messages when it shouldn't.

Searching the Market brought forth a long list, but interestingly none of those recommended here.

After experimenting, I settled on Timeriffic. It permits settings for virtually all parameters in all circumstances, and has been flawless since installation. There is probably something that is somehow better, but "perfect is the enemy of good enough."

Thanks, folks!

Beautiful Widgets - beautiful toggle widget - timed silence. I even use this when I go to the movies.

That is the handiest little toggle ever.
I use it for movies.
For meetings.
For putting the baby to bed.

Anytime I want to silence the phone, but don't want to forget to turn it back up again later, it's perfect. Because inadvertantly if I turn my phone down for some reason, it is hours later before I remember to turn it back up, and by then I've missed calls and texts, etc.

Tasker seems pretty comprehensive - a bit of overkill. The other two solutions are focused upon my requirement, and should be ok.
It helps to state whether or not you're looking for an appliance app in your requirements. What's best for one isn't necessarily best for the next. What you consider a drawback to Tasker is what I consider to be a major plus.

I use Volume Widget: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.leepstudios.VolumeWidget&feature=search_result

You create 3 sound profiles. You simply tap on the widget to change to one of 3 predefined profiles. When I'm sleeping, I just want notifications (such as for email, text message, etc.) turned off, but I still want the phone to ring. During the day, I want all the sounds on. Every night I switch to the profile with no notifications and when I wake up, I switch to the profile with all sounds on.

You need to do this manually every day. I wake up and go to bed a different time each day, so a scheduled app won't work for me. There is no scheduler with this app.
