Help Any discovered temporary solution to the reboots?

I've had random reboots maybe once every couple of days or so, but today has been completely different. I've had 8 random reboots today and it's quite frustrating. One actually happened right after a reboot. Has anyone found any temporary solutions that may reduce the frequency of these reboots? Greatly appreciated.

Wouldn't that make me lose all my data? Like contacts? Calendar? and Game memory?

not if you allow google to sync your account. follow this sequence to make sure it is: Menu>Settings>Accounts & sync. At the very top, there will be two lines one that says "Background data" & the other, "Auto-sync". Make sure the box to each of those has the green check-mark showing. If they do, you can do a factory reset, no problem. If they're not, make sure they are and then shut off the phone and power it back up. Then you can do the master reset.

Please note: The game memory will probably be erased depending on the game and the text messages you have on the phone will be missing, unless you store them to your sim card.

I had the reboot issues and it seemed like my options were, A) Wait for the OTA fix, B) Get a replacement that would possibly do the same thing, or C) Try rooting, and if that doesn't work go back to A/B. :D I decided to try rooting and so far so good. If you're not comfortable going that route, I guess it's wait and see or return. My biggest thing was not wanting to exchange my phone only to have a patch come out a few days later.

My wife's and mine are the same way. We noticed a reboot here and there, but more recently it's not uncommon for it to reboot every 5-10 minutes for a few hours straight or 2-3 reboots back to back. It's doing it all the time while on calls and texting.

My cell is my work and personal phone, only phone I own outside of VOIP. It has dropped very important calls and rebooted in meetings to the point people ask me what my phone is doing after seeing it keep lighting up with the HTC screen lol. Because of this, I have to say it's in the running for the shittiest phone experience I've ever had.

I asked VZ and they said some apps can cause this and there's nothing they can do. I did a reset and installed NOTHING and it still does it.

Write a letter to corporate. I have done this and at least I got them to promise me that if my THIRD TB has issues I can switch to a new phone or a new make & model. I lost two important emails b/c of data loss. My third TB should be arriving tomorrow. My current TB does NOT have the OTA update (and could NOT get it no matter what I or the VZW guy tried).

Fingers crossed that the replacement isn't someone else's rebooting nightmare.

root it, install BAMF 1.7. profit.....

in all seriousness though i understand your frustrations, and i think that a phone should function without major problems like rebooting every 30 mins.
i can honestly say that i have never had my Tbolt randomly reboot constantly like that. but then again i rooted my thunderbolt the very first day i got it. been running GB BAMFremix 2.0-5 for almost 2 weeks now. have not had any major issues that i could not fix myself. GPS lock is instant. Calls are loud and crystal clear. my phone is running fast and over clocked to 1.25 ghz. battery life lasts roughly about 10-12 hours with moderate use, 16 hours if i stay away from youtube. i love my thunder bolt. and i love the fact that i have removed all the verizon junk they put on my phone when they shipped it. there is a large developer community that has an incredible amount of knowledge that can help. dont be afraid to jump into the root forums and look for a solution yourself, or ask if someone already has found a solution. android is open source. if your rooted and you come across something you dont like change it. try another rom. flash a different kernal. apply a different theme. thats the beauty of android. like i tell all my friends who ask me what smartphone they should get. i ask if they want something that they dont ever have to worry about then get an Iphone, or if they want something that they can do whatever they want with the get an android.
