Help youtube app not working and cant find

Ok...... This is so strange I have a desire s. It says I've got YouTube installed on my phone. But I can't find it anywhere. When I go to Android market it says it is installed but I can't open it. Any suggestions

Same problem here. However, you can watch videos on youtube in the web browser.

Have you all tried going to 'manage application' and clear data and cache for youtube app?

Yep done that. Doesn't allow me to clear cache or anything. So strange. Ive restarted phone.

pull battery while off as well (essentially that is a soft reset)

Thats all i meant, take battery out of phone while off. It is what is called a 'soft reset'

no worries ive fixed the problem. i downloaded the apk again and overwrited it. all good

I have the same problem. cant open youtube app in my desire s.. i've tried restarting my phone, soft resetting, rewriting youtube apk... but not working any ways.. help me those who have overcome this issue..

It won't start at all or video's won't play? 3g signal is good?

Have you tried installing the YouTube app from Android Market? There maybe an Android Market app on your phone which you can do it from.

I had the same problem,couldnt find youtube app but market said it was installed.....

To sort it out i used es file explorer, went to SYSTEM,APPS...then scrolled down all the pre installed apps and found the you tube apk and installed it,it now comes up on my apps and widget list.

I also found a file called READER,i clicked on it and it had loads of books in it..........

having pretty much the exact same problem as the op

The app doesn't appear in my apps list, but does appear under 'manage applications' - but all the buttons are disabled.

When I go to the market, it says installed, but the 'open' button is disabled

When I try to reinstall from an apk file, I get the options of 'uninstall' or 'launch'. when I uninstall, it just says 'uninstallation unsuccessful', and when I select 'launch', I get 'Activity not found - com.google.android.youtube'

Any other ideas I can try?

(Current version is 2.1.6 if it helps)
