Root cm nightly 54- hw video decoding

Youtube HQ works a lot better. :) Some of my 720p vids also play better but still some stuttering. I'm going to wait for the stable release of CM7 or Vegan GB before I use it as my daily driver. Good progress though.

Edit: Looks like there's a CM 7.02 stable release. I'm not sure it incorporates the changes to HW acceleration.

Any update on this? I was just going through the forums looking for any guidance on which ROM plays videos best. I was trying to watch movies on my gTab this weekend while flying and it was awful. I'm on Vegan Ginger.

They were mpeg4, if that means anything.

Is CW better?

Thanks.

CM is much more updated than Vegan Ginger but I was told you can use QQ player, Mobo, or Rockplayer to play hi def videos on any of there GB roms.

Moboplayer on VeganGinger produced unwatchably-choppy video on two of the three full-length movies I tried to watch. I don't know if either of them were HD though--I didn't rip them.

The video player that came with VeganGinger didn't do any better.

You can try playing them using Software decoding to see if that helps improve the choppiness.

Oh man...

Bear with me. Where do I press the video file? In File Manager, or a file explorer program? Long-pressing it in File Explorer does not give an option for 'soft encoding'...

Please, treat me like an idiot...apparently I am one.

(Thanks.)

I refuse to treat people like idiots. :)

In Mobo any of the video players. There should be a list of your vids that you can long press.
