I finally got to play with the 4G service on my Droid Charge this weekend and I am really impressed. When I was with Sprint, the 4G topped out for me in Raleigh at around 2.5Mbs down. On the way to Atlanta I pit stopped somewhere around Spartanburg, SC and noticed that I was picking up a 4G signal so I thought I would Speedtest it and see what it would get. I was very surprised to see that it is very close to my home speeds at almost 30Mbps down. I thought it was an anomaly so I tried it again and got similar numbers. When I got to Atlanta I typically pulled about 18Mbps down and about 6Mbps up. The ping times weren't that great and I have no real use for those speeds but it's still really cool.
