So after nearly 4 years my BB 9000 has died a death and I'm having to resurrect my calamitous attempt at a phone, the X10

It's been about 8 months since I set eyes on the thing and wanted to know, without trawling through pages of articles, if I can expect any significant changes.

It's all completely standard, no warranty wrecking modifications, and as far as I know it was pretty much up to date when I lasted used it.

Cheers.

What version of Firmware do you have on it? The latest official firmware is 2.1, which was a big improvement on the 1.6 which came with it, and 2.3 should be coming out in the next month or so.

2.1 came out about 2 weeks after I bought it, so upgraded straight away. Apart from losing all my contacts (twice), still an outstanding issue as I read through these boards, it was a good improvement. Apart from the iphone unlock swipe thing, they should have kept it as an arch in my opinion

If you have an exchange mail server, then you should be able to use Moxier or some type of Exchange/Outlook app.

Doesn't the generic gmail mail app do that?

I don't use email on my phone.

The other option is to login to your webmail site from the phone......not as functional and no notifications, but it does what you want.

Not 100% sure about gmail? I suppose it'd make sense if they did offer the service, as the Android OS is produced by Google, isn't it? Trouble is I use hotmail for most of my email correspondence....

I had a look into the Moxier/Exchange/Outlook stuff when I first bought the devise but really couldn't get my head around it whilst working out the new Android system. Will definitely have another look, as I use email quite a bit on my phone. I'm so surprised such a basic function has been omitted, and is not available as standard,
