Just an observation of a stock Indulge vs. an Indulge running the Basix ROM...

For starters my twin brother and I have purchased Indulge phones. He left his stock and I put the Basix ROM on Mine.

We both charged up our phones to a full charge and put them in CDMA ONLY MODE just to see whose battery would drain faster.

Now keep in mind ...we both made sure there weren't any widgets pulling data and turned off syncing of email and other things that would drain the battery.

After 6 hours his battery meter was still all the way filled or at 99 percent on the stock Indulge on my Indulge running the Basix ROM my phone read 38 percent battery????

This is with going into CWM and erasing the battery stats and rebooting. That is just a huge difference to me though!!

Once again...just so I am clear...there were no apps that were running in the backround other than what normally runs, data sycining was off, wi fi off, bluetooth off etc.

did you wipe the stats when the phone was at 100%

Most likely his battery readings are off.
Fun little thing to have him do: restart the phone. His battery meter will drop like a rock! I've seen this. I've done this. You don't want this... :)
Also, the actual battery icon is not to be trusted. Watch as his battery icon shows about 80% of life left and plug the charger. It might read less than 60%! So yeah, don't trust that icon in the status bar.

Do the test again, but just wait and see which phone actually *dies* first. If you've got the time, of course.

We will do it again later... and see what happens. Yeah I know about that battery icon/meter on the stock Indulge not to be that accurate anyway.

Also... what kind of battery life are you guys getting on the basix ROM WITH 4G enabled and say medium usage....

please post your results so I have an idea. thanks!!!!

12 hours minimum usage (phone calls//texting 10 minutes of wifi browsing). about 7-9ish with medium usage. heavy usage and in 90 degree temperature the battery heats up to about 70 degrees or more almost and i'll get about 4-5 hours, you can literally watch the battery drop n % while your using it if the battery is hot. btw the base temperature i've seen on my battery is about 20-35 degrees. when you have the charger plugged in(with out doing anything else) it'll be at about 40-50. Heat is the killer.

p.s my 4g is always on unless i go downstairs and get out of coverage area.

funny story, before i wiped the battery stats MULTIPLE times untill i felt it was accurate 'enough' , it use to drop 30% almost everytime i rebooted, and i got konannys rom. if your having this issue you might want to calibrate the battery the proper way

Are you talking about wiping the stats in CWM after the phone has been charged to 100% while the phone is off??

i did that (calibration) a few times after i realized just wiping the stats wasn't going to cut it. Even now some days i'll look at my phone and see the battery at 70% then after 10 minutes or so i'll look at it again and it'll be at 29, when it does that it'll stay in the 20's for a good 4 hours lol. This is after a bunch of battery calibration attempts.

And that is actually not battery drain - simply an odd battery, or hardware not picking up the discharge until a certain refresh point.

Well one thing you can be certain of is it isn't the battery draining, because you can roughly pull the same amount of time if either it does do the said symptoms or not. i.E right now i'm at 21% and it's been unplugged for 10 hours, today it has not been showing the symptoms. Im going to take a shot in the dark with this but it seems to mis-read the battery life if the phone dies and the temperature of the battery has been fairly high leading to the phone dying, this is how it happened yesterday when it started displaying 29% after i charged it to full previously (when it died i was outside and the battery life was at 30%, i expected it to die because it was extremely hot out and so was the battery). Like i said i charged(plugged in at about 5pm) it after it died, used it for a hour or so and it was at 70, then 10 minutes later it was at 29% and stayed like that till early this morning around 6, then i shut it off and re-calibrated the battery and wiped the stats, and it's been working fine today. So either way you get almost the same amount of usage/time out of the phone GIVEN the temperatures are roughly the same.

the question is(in my case at least) the heat of the battery causing the calibration to fall off or not get recognized properly, or even the heat of the battery is causing the phone to forget the arguments of the battery its calibrated to.

by the way i haven't had this problem on the stock indulge, but if i were using stock you could go ahead and cut 5+ hours of battery usage off my phone, i was lucky to get 4 hours back in the day.

:):):):)
